When one of our springs broke, I asked a handyman friend if he had a referral for a garage door company and he recommended Barton Overhead Door. Coupled with an "on-line" search and finding Barton's strong "Review" scores I was totally comfortable contacting them. Because it was a weekend, I was able to leave a request for service on their Web site. The repair was pretty standard for a broken spring replacement which was done within a couple of days. The repair went well and the tech replaced both springs that are better than the originals. The door has never worked so smooth and well. To have and maintain such satisfaction scores pretty much assures you'll get good service and be happy with the results. read more

Showed up when expected, replaced two springs, did a good job. I'm happy with their service.

If I could give zero stars I would. I have been more than patient. I ordered doors over 8 months ago. The doors are installed and one panel is defective. They knew it was defective when installed but waited for us to call them. Installer never mentioned defective door but when we called in, the service supervisor knew of the defective door. It has been about 4 months and still no replacement panel. They collected in full and job is NOT completed. I have called my bank to charge back and will be call Curtis on your side Chanel 3 news if not handled in the next 2 weeks. They are very popular doors so you know they are installing the same doors daily. They just need to pull one panel from a new order and take care of my order but they are chasing new money instead of giving the customer what was paid for in full. I will keep you updated. Buyer beware. I believe as a contractor they're only allowed to collect 10% deposit until the job is complete. read more

Barton installed our garage door opener many years ago and have repaired it once before. We called them to help us program our remote and new car openers. It was more than we thought...it was a motherboard. My husband was so happy. He couldn't figure it out and called Barton in frustration. He was glad it was more than he could do. He was redeemed. It wasn't that costly, either. read more

Called made a appointment for a estimate arrived as promised, very nice and professional gave me a estimate. Called their office twice only had two questions, can I choose a color for the door and when can you start, never called me back. Went with a different company. I would like to give a shout out to Lynn at Barton Overhead Doors. I am the Office Manager at Rainbow Restoration of Modesto, we had a customer whose garage door and house were run into by a speeding hit and run driver during the night. She was unable to get her car out of the garage and had plans to go to the Bay Area for Christmas celebration today. We did not take the chance of moving the garage door because it could have fallen off. I called Barton Overhead Doors and spoke with Lynn to see if they were providing services since it was after 3:00 pm and everyone was wrapping up to be off for Christmas Eve and Day. She was kind enough to send a service technician to my customer's house within 20 minutes and he was able to get the garage door open, she got her car out and he closed the mangled door. We were able to secure the property safely. Our customer was overjoyed to get her car out and will be able to take the cakes she was baking to her family's Christmas dinner. I would also like to thank the service technician who responded (didn't catch your name). I highly recommend Barton Overhead Doors for going above and beyond in customer service. Thank You. My garage door spring broke over the weekend, I called Barton Monday morning and had a repair technician at my house by 12:30. Rocky came out and not only did he repair the door quickly but he also lube all of the rollers. He was very polite and did a great job. read more

The most Mickey Mouse installation and when you call the company with your feedback , concerns or need to have someone come fix their mess, you are greeted by condescending unhelpful reception. I wouldn't recommend this business to my worst enemy. read more

Our technician was on time and actually a little earlier than expected. The tech replaced the garage door springs in no time, lubed the door rollers and I was back moving cars into the garage within 40 minutes of arrival. The price was exactly what was quoted over the phone and since I wanted to pay with a credit card, he said that he would have the office call to get the details. The office called within minutes and made payment a breeze. Would recommend!!! read more

Called Barton because my garage door spring broke. They were able to come out on the same day. They provided excellent service and the spring comes with a 10 year warranty. Not bad for $126. Barton Overhead Door installed a LiftMaster 8500 for me. The installer (I didn't catch his name) arrived precisely on time and immediately got to work. The installation went without issue and the installer showed me the finer points of the opener upon completion. Additionally, when I showed him I already had a Chamberlain internet gateway, he immediately reversed the charge for LiftMaster gateway I had ordered. I did not realize they were (electronically) the same device and probably never would have had my installer not enlightened me. I greatly appreciate such integrity! Overall, Barton, from their office staff to their installer, were very professional, polite and friendly, but also, very businesslike and efficient. There is a highly very nasty rude older lady that I just spoke to about an incomplete job! My door was left unlocked because of an oversight on their part for days. I left 3 messages with Josh and did not get any courtesy call back. When I called again today I finally spoke to a sweet young lady that was very understanding of my concerns about my family safety. But unfortunately she handed me off to a bitter sounded old lady that snapped on me the moment she picked up the phone! She raised her voice and said "I have nothing to do with Jose not calling you back and I already know situation". She then proceeded to tell me they just got approved to fix the rest of the door and yelled at me to calm down! Ironic! Lol The entire time I was nice, spoke professional and informed her all I wanted was a courtesy call and that my husband and I will be paying for this door so we are the paying customers. She got even more upset and yelled at me more when I pointed out all I wanted was a "courtesy call". Now I deserve an apology for how crazy she is acting. Then she started to put down the company that I am rented from which has nothing to do with why no one called me back for a incomplete job. The mean lady then just hangs up on me right after I tell her assertively she is unprofessional and her customer service is horrible. I do not know what happen to this mean person before she got on the phone in her person life but we all go thru it and you should not take it to work. She lacks human relations skills big time and I would not want her in charge of talking to customers. This is no longer about Josh not calling me back this is about lack of empathy and her being very abusive to customers. I will never use them again and I am making sure my property Management company is fully aware of how she feels about them. Update. Replying back to Josh: Thank you for the apology. However this all could of been avoided if you called me back and explained this to me. I was still unsafe with an unlocked door for almost a week. I also found out the mean lady wrote a letter to my property manager and apologized to them instead of contacting me the person she was abusive to and hung up on. This is weeks over with and I do NOT need her apology no longer. The workers are nice that came to my home and I don't fault them for anything. And no one disagree it was an oversight that the first estimate missed when speaking to them. My family and special needs child is safe now with a locked door. Again this all could of been avoided if a call was returned and NOT by her. That lady should not be talking to customers or prospects. read more

We recently purchased and had a new garage door installed. What a great experience! From the sale to installation they were a pleasure to work with. Good communication setting up the time to install. The installer was Dhillon and he did a great job. He cleaned up his mess and showed us all the features of the door. Super quiet door operation. We had to follow up to get a larger sweep on the bottom of the door. They were very responsive and Bud called to arrange a mutually agreeable time to install. PLEASE READ. We were quoted about $550 to upgrade our 2 garage doors from manual to automatic after someone came out to look at the doors in person. We made an appointment and it all began smoothly. The man was nice and let me know that before he got started, he would need to replace a couple of springs and we should be good to go. He never mentioned this would increase the price of the bill, just casually mentioned this. A couple of hours later, he gets done with one door and requests that we make another appointment to finish the second door as he wasn't feeling well. He comes out the following week to finish the job, and we are all set. Everything is running smoothly until we get 3 separate bills in the mail each totaling around $550 - one for the springs and things he never mentioned would increase the price, another for one of the doors, and the third for the 2nd door he had to come back for. Let me remind you that we were quoted $550 for BOTH DOORS and somehow we were left with about an $1,800 bill. When we called to question how this happened, they basically said business is business and there is nothing they can do. So all in all, you really need to make sure you understand exactly what services they are selling you and to update you with any possible upcharges otherwise, you may end up paying much more than they initially quoted you for. read more

We've used Barton over the years, at previous homes, and have always had a good experience. This time was no different. The office staff and technician were friendly and got the job done. I was having an issue with my remotes being able to open the garage door but not close it, though it always closed with the wall button. After searching online, I suspected the logic board needed replacing. When I called to request a service call, the office person who answered first tried to suggest that the codes needed to be re-programmed. I said that didn't make sense with my issues, as the door used to open but not close with the remotes, though now, it would neither open or close. She put me on hold and must've gone to run the "symptoms" by somebody. When she came back, she said it sounds like the board needs replacing. I also asked about having a keypad installed, and she gave me an estimate as to what that might cost, which was helpful. She put me on the schedule for a service call. On the day of my service call, they called to let me know that the technician would be arriving in 10-15 minutes, earlier than he was scheduled. I very much appreciated the heads-up, and he arrived in the time frame she had reported. The technician completed the job in a jiffy, and everything is working great! read more
