Great selection of outdoor plants kept…read morein exceptionally clean and tidy surroundings giving you confidence in the quality of the plants - and no I don't work there it's a genuine observation :-) Huge range of all the usual garden sundries large and small and staff on hand to advise. The Topiary cafe within seemed to be doing a roaring trade during my visit and I'm sure the outside seating will make it even more popular in the summer. There's a large crafts section and the usual posh gifts to be found in garden centres, also a food section with chutneys and more. All in all a classy garden centre which would appeal to gardeners and non-gardeners alike, a nice place to have a drive out to and a mosey around! :-)

I also get all my bedding plants and tubs in the Summer and can select from the varied shrubs on offer. A friend and I always visit the clothing section after we've had lunch at the Topiary Café and have purchased sweaters, jackets and tunics in the past. We are never disappointed with the food on offer at the Café. One of the reasons why I didn't rate Burnside 5 stars is because it's selection of houseplants and cacti is very limited. Altogether though, a good place to visit.

By the time we had waited for hot drinks our "hot food" was cold! Poor staff that were on duty, were run off their feet! running out of milk then clean crockery! we waited yet again to pay at check out then no clean cutlery had to wait for the kitchen to wash some! We were advised that x 4 coaches had arrived causing the place to be busy! & quite full. May I suggest that they get the staff to cover these occasions or turn away coaches! or you will have no regular customers left.

As well as garden related products it has an aquatic section for both tropical and cold water fish and also assorted gifts throughout the store. Downstairs there are clothes both for everday wear and also outdoors e.g Barbour jackets and walking boots. There is a small specialist foodie section with upmarket sauces, pastas, herbs, spices, bottled beers, ciders, spirits and liqueurs. Also a kichenwares department, books, toys, greetings cards and gift wrap etc. The restaurant seemed to be doing a reasonable trade when I visited and the cream cakes in the display cabinet looked wonderful, though I resisted the temptation on this occasion :-) At Christmas it becomes a winter wonderland with a huge range of decorations, lights etc. and Father Christmas comes to visit for the kids. Smashing garden centre basically, though like many it is errs on the expensive side, hence my rating of 4 stars instead of 5.
