I paid for a 10 credit hour course only to find out there was only 4 hours a week in class and monthly lab with 4 hours meaning an average of 5 weekly hours. The professor informed us that it's recommended that you study 40 hours outside of class to achieve a passing grade. The standard for one credit hour is 50 minutes of class with 120 minutes of study meaning a 10 credit hour class should be roughly 30 hours of work however the course I'm attending requires 48 hours of work and only 5 of those hours are what you paid for meaning the collage is offloading it's work onto the students in an inefficient manner. I'd call it affordable but since you're getting half the classroom time you paid for it's actually a more like theft. Basically if you're in EMS I recommend you attend a different program this one will take your money and your time in exchange for a defective product. read more

Barton is a great asset for anyone eligible to attend to take classes toward a useful degree or just to further your education. I've been taking LSEC classes since Nov 2016, and am on track to graduate by the end of 2017. That's a 2 year Associate of Applied Science in Business Management & Leadership in just 1 year. Sometimes the 6 week cycles seem a little fast paced, especially when taking multiple classes that end up with the same due dates, but it's not impossible to do. One thing I wish that BCC did is have a whole year of classes scheduled so students could plan their academic year ahead, and also register for more than 1 cycle at a time. (I heard that they did do this a long time ago, but have since changed their ways. Good grief. Why take away a scheduling feature that was so useful?) As far as staff goes, the teachers are pretty kewl. They know a lot about their subjects and add their own experiences to the mix so we learn how things relate "in real life". The office staff seems friendly to me for the most part, and my advisor has made the enrollment process quick and easy for me. Overall, I like BCC and what it offers. read more

The college offers a great opportunity for the people in the area to take classes and work towards what they need to do to achieve their academic goals. Most of the academic advisors seem to care about he students and do their job to help out. The issues is the office staff. Considering the people working the desks are the first contact for everyone that walks through the door you would think they would hire better people. No one ever answers the phones when you call, it seems you practically always get the voicemail. The people at the desk act as if you are bothering them when you ask questions. I just wish the school would put as much care into who they hire to work the front desks as they do into having programs and advisors that are benefit to the public. read more

holy fuck if i could give this school no stars i would! the staff is so rude everytime i call my student admissions lady she tells me it's been such a lonnng dayy and she can't wait to go home. i called her at 3pm one time and she said that! omg. how fucking lazy are you, i work 12-15 hour days and i'm not that big of a loser. after 3 pm she does not do anyyyy work she will put on her voicemail and not email anyone or answer any calls even though she has 2 hours of work left. all i asked her for 2 freaking weeks was to complete my mycaa paperwork and email me. i am a reservist in the us army. pplllllease servicemembers if you can avoid this shitty school. please do. not recommended. i know its cheap but..use your post 9-11, or montgomery elsewhere if possible. read more
