I called them to have a dead tree cut down. They had to consult with their arborist first, for some reason. They returned my call after consulting with their arborist, and said," We aren't cutting trees down at this time and are working on saving the trees." Well, there ain't no saving this tree and what good is a tree service if they can't cut down a dead tree? I will never call them again!!!!! read more

Just call Bartlett for a quote -- and don't bother calling anyone else. They are much more affordable and more professional than any of their competition, and I speak from experience. In the summer 2025, I called about six tree companies for quotes on removing one mature tree and trimming two, in my backyard. All the quotes but one were in the $4000 range, and the other was at $6,000! Some refused the job because they did not have a "climber" who could climb the trees to trim them, others refused because they did not think they could get a bucket into the space. The one company that had a better price and a climber and a bucket never returned my calls when I tried to hire them. Then I called Bartlett. Their quote was much lower than the quotes from their competitors. They figured out a way to get the bucket into the backyard and they have a climber on staff. They were super professional. They provided a crew of three, with two assisting and standing by for the tree climber who trimmed the two trees. As for the tree they removed that was hanging over my roof and deck, they did such a great job cleaning up that you would never know they were there. Give them a call! read more

He took notes and said he would get back to us with an estimate. We waited quite a while and finally reached out with a phone call and then an email. They never gave us the courtesy of a response. The Bartlett Arborist Representative provided a clear assessment of the condition of three trees on my property that had either died, or were in the process of dying. He also provided me (in writing and verbally) with 4 different 'tree-removal/stump-grinding' options. The Arborist Representative also (verbally) gave me an estimated schedule for implementing the 'tree-removal/stump-grinding' project. Both the 'Tree-Removal' Technicians, and (several days later) the 'Stump-Grinding' Technicians arrived at my property within the promised time frame. They executed the terms of the contract efficiently and effectively, while respecting my property throughout. These folks have done work for us several times and in every instance we're been impressed with their responsiveness and the quality of their work. Mike is extremely knowledgable, friendly and professional. He explains his recommendations clearly and just loves talking about trees. We've used them for elective pruning of a few large maples close to the house. Then we had to call them on a rather urgent basis when an early, wet snowstorm overloaded a Bradford Pear and split it down the middle, with the split trunk landing against our roof. They were very responsive and took care of the situation quickly. Most recently we've had them remove 3 large (60' or more) dead pine trees from the hedgerows on the north and south side of our home. Access was tricky but they pulled the job off expertly with minimal impact on the surrounding landscape. We've found the work crews to be very competent and well trained. Their clean up after the job is meticulous (after their last job our gravel driveway and parking area looked better than it did before they came). We feel very comfortable in recommending them highly. read more

Jason came out in June 2022 and told me he was looking at doing the job in September. The project involved pruning 5 trees and a shrub. I don't hear from Jason or anyone so I called and left messages with the receptionist in August and September. No return calls. I go to their office and Jason tells me he'll get me on the schedule in the next week to two weeks and he's send over a contract. A couple weeks go by and nothing. I call and ask to speak to Jason's supervisor and less message with my concerns. The supervisor never reaches out , but the contract is sent the next day. I send Jason an email requesting he speak with his supervisor about a discount for the very poor customer service. It's been almost a week and no response received. How had this company been around for over a century? My guess is my $1,900 project wasn't a priority as it doesn't bring in as much $$ as those commercial jobs, etc. Avoid this company!!! There are others out there more professional. I've since made contact with one and they appreciate my business. read more

Found Rich Croft (representative) to be extremely knowledgeable and excellent at explaining what needed to be done and why. The crew that performed the tree trimming service were also excellent. They did a great job and cleaned up everything when they were done. Everyone was professional, courteous and on time and they knew what they were doing - that says a lot about a company culture. Their equipment and trucks all looked to be well maintained and someone obviously takes pride in keeping it that way - it certainly shows and reflects well on them. We have 24 Colorado blue spruce trees and they wouldn't be alive and beautiful today without the care of Bartlett. The staff at Bartlett are all friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and get this, they actually do what they say they're going to do like arrive on time, know what they're talking about and deliver! Unheard of in today's world! Their sales representatives are educated and not just con artists to get your money. They truly know everything "tree". They may be higher priced than the competition, but they are worth every cent! We learned that the hard way by attempting to switch one year (to save a buck) and we almost lost half our trees because the company didn't have a clue what it was doing! Lesson learned. Bartlett Tree Experts live up to their name. They have helped us manage our property since 2007 and our trees are healthy and key to our land. We have over 150 trees on our 4 acres and they help maintain the beauty and peaceful natural feel. The last two years Barlett have sprayed and helped us manage the tick population. We have not found any ticks when in the past we would encounter 5-9 tick events per year. We are active in our gardens and yard as are our grandchildren. We work mainly with Tom and couldn't be more satisfied with their service and results. I highly recommend them. read more

We recently hired this company to prune several trees on our property, and we were very disappointed with the quality of work. The team who came to do the pruning were too hurried or just plain incompetent. Some trees which we paid to have pruned were hardly touched and we will have to hire another company to come in and actually prune them. When I contacted Steven Blair to let him know that we were dissatisfied with the work, he did nothing to address the problem, just ignored my email. We were billed a ridiculously high amount for very shoddy work. Avoid this company. read more

We had a caterpillar infestation in some of our bushes, so we called Bartlett after a recommendation from a local plant nursery. Overall, we were disappointed in the customer service. While they ultimately sprayed the bushes and removed the pests, it took some time to get the representative to our home to provide a quote. Also, the day we were told they would come to spray, they didn't show up. It is weather dependent but we didn't even receive a call telling us they weren't showing up or when we could expect them next. We didn't need to be home when they sprayed, but we did have to have all of the windows shut and since we were painting inside our house, it would've been nice to know that we could open the windows. Lastly, we called to follow up with a question and never heard back. If we have issues in the future that require pest management or tree services, we'll use someone else. read more
