I highly recommend Bartlett! We needed emergency tree service during a wind storm. Not only did they answer the phone on a Saturday night but their rep, Guy, walked us through the steps we needed to take. He responded to every text and helped us get started on what ended up being a very long and crazy tree removal. Guy acted as an advisor by letting us know who to call as well as helping us take steps to save money. We had an ice storm come through on 11/15 that did some significant damage to a couple of oak trees in our yard. I called Bartlett and was impressed that someone came out that same evening to assess the damage per my neighbor's report. I didn't expect to hear anything over the weekend and so I called on 11/19 to see what they thought of the damage. I had a pleasant conversation with Guy and he gave me his thoughts and let me know that he would get an estimate to me soon. I have received zero communication from the company since then. In the last month, I have called a couple of times and no one answered. The last time I left a message for Guy directly and I still haven't heard anything. I understand that they may be very busy, but I would appreciate being told that they don't have time to take my business if that's the case. The entire process of getting an estimate to performing the work I needed was a great experience. The staff of employees were professional and attentive to what I needed. They were quick and thoughtful with any issues i had even removing a dead squirrel from my driveway. As well as the 25 feet tree in a cramped location. I will definitely used their service again. Contacted Guy Fortner to inspect a large silver maple and white pine for damage . Here's Landed quickly set up an appointments and arrived ahead of schedule. Gave mean overall assessment recommended a course of action. The bid was submitted as we discussed and a date and time for the work was scheduled. The crew showed up on time and the work was completed in a timely manner. Clean up was first rate. Guy followed up with a phone call to review the crews work the next dAy. I have never encountered such an easy process from beginning to end as I have with Bartlett Tree experts. They were friendly, professional and concerned about my problem. I had a quote in less than 30 minutes from my initial call and my tree problem was taken care of in less than 24 hours! The guys who took down my tree were awesome and worked tirelessly without complaint removing a tree in between two fences with little space to maneuver. Not Comfortable Recommending Bartlett Tree Experts... We chose Bartlett Tree Experts based on their arborist consultation, and particularly, their very professional pamphlet that they left with us. Based on that pamphlet, we decided to forego a second quote, and contracted with Bartlett for $775.63 to install some support cables, and to clean up the tree. Bartlett made an appointment to work on our tree, which was affected by recent storms. They did not show up on the day of the appointment, and did not call to update us. The next day, they also did not show up, and did not call us. We called Bartlett on the following day, and the person we spoke to said they were " just picking up the phone to call us," and had been swamped by recent storm business, and said that our tree had high priority. They set another appointment, and showed up for work a half hour earlier than scheduled on that day. It was one of the hottest days of the year. A supervisor spoke to us at the start, and that was the only interaction we've had with Bartlett since. Two people spent about 3.5 hours working on the tree, and another person was here for a much shorter time, working with the cables. My wife was home the entire time, and when I got home from work and looked at the tree, I thought surely Bartlett must be coming back on another day to finish the work. I realized after a few days that they must have thought they were done. Again, no one spoke to us once the work started. I received the invoice today, which I will pay, but I'm just not happy with the level of service that I received. I didn't think that tree trimming would be on my task list after contracting with Bartlett, but the tree still needs trimming. I believe Bartlett probably performed 90% of what they stated they would do, but they seemed to have done the absolute minimum they could to get out of the heat, invoice us, and move onto the next contract. Specifically, they left many dead and broken branches in the tree, which the contract stated were to all be removed. Many small branches were also left on the ground for me to clean up. I think if a supervisor had inspected the work, he would have prompted the workers to be more thorough. Another observation, having used an arborist in another state to install cables in another tree, is that Bartlett's quarter inch cables are much thinner than those used by a previous tree specialist. I'm also nervous that no treatment was recommended by the arborist for the huge wound area where 2 limbs broke off the tree...perhaps this is correct, but I just don't know, and relied on their expertise to treat my tree appropriately. So, based on my comments above, I would not feel comfortable recommending Bartlett Tree Experts to others. They certainly did not perform or communicate anywhere near as well as I expected, and did not earn my repeat business or trust as a client. read more
