The greatest amount of information is devoted to fundraising activities. The designers of the physical plant created a building more fortress-like than school-like. The classrooms, the office, the computer lab, and the media center are all undersized and the whole building is claustrophobic. The playground and field are too small for the population. Perhaps the worst part is the location on a very busy street between two businesses. The parking lot is cramped. Since there is no transportation provided, all students must be picked up in the afternoon making the car line a nightmare while leaving the campus is extremely inhibited because of traffic. The only light in this scenario is the gentleman who directs traffic into and out of the campus. He does a wonderful job. The rules at the academy are arbitrary and lack common sense. For example; when it is raining parents must park and collect their children from the cafeteria where they are being held. On dry days if a parent happens to be a couple of minutes late and doesn't make it "behind the gate" even though the car line is not finished, they are required to park and proceed to the crowded office where their children are then summoned from the cafeteria. This exchange could be accomplished the same way as for rainy days, but that wouldn't punish parents enough for not making it behind the gate apparently. I find that much of the staff is aloof and unfriendly and a large percentage have little experience. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I do not recommend this school if your child is…read moresocially awkward or struggles to make friends, because they will likely be a target for mocking... where newsome excels academically is where they lack in social environment. my child was consistently mocked, excluded, and borderline bullied by other students. the staff didn't seem to care about the harassment until it started to directly affect them. the other high schools such as bloomingdale are generally more tolerant of people with different upbringings, backgrounds and cultures.

There are numerous clubs, sports, arts, and music offerings as well as FFA and specialized STEM Courses. The school has made my daughter go from below level in Elementary school to honor roll. The teachers know the students extremely well and that helps with in today's society of threats as the school is a smaller private school. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting a school from 6th to 12th and their child has a IEP and needs extra help than what the public school provides. The owner is involved in the school and frequently visits. When a parent has any concern he quickly addresses them with the parent.

The new administration is very slow to respond and if your child graduates, make sure there is an actual high school diploma instead of just the transcript. The current issue is this: My son is in 8th grade at Bell Creek Academy & the principle there has started harassing him/us since last yr bc of his 504 & now IEP.....she insisted on failing him last yr so he is in 8th grade AGAIN this yr......she directed the teachers to not follow the IEP/504 rules, she was constantly asking us if he was coming back this yr, his math teacher (which she failed him in her class) called the students a bunch of monkeys, Ms. Fahringer told my husband my son wasn't intelligent enough to be at Bell Creek (he's in honors classes), told my husband the fact that I have stage 4 terminal cancer, my father/his grandfather died in November, his great grandfather died in November as well & his grandmother almost died last yr was not an excuse for him to struggle with his grades, he has anxiety disorder/ADHD, Depression & Asperger's, we also had to change his therapist/Dr last school yr but it's all no excuse for his failure..... School started last Thursday & bc I just had major surgery (had a mastectomy) the kids/we had a very hard summer, our kids grandparents came down last week (Wed-Friday) which they hadn't seen in almost a yr we decided to keep him home....we let the school know he would be there today (Monday 8/14) & what was going on & Ms Fahringer (the principal) even called us both on Thursday & Friday to harass us about our son not being there demanding us to enroll him somewhere else.....then today upon getting him to school my husband finds out that she unenrolled our son from Bell Creek!!! My husband has filed a complaint with CSA & Hillsborough Co Schools, we will also be filing complaints about her harassment bc of his disability & not following his IEP This Principle needs fired & is all the way around horrible for our students at Bell Creek

As you walk down the hall, each and every teacher or staff member that you pass, will greet you with the biggest smile as if you've known each other and have been friends for the longest time. This is my son's first year here, he is in the fifth grade and wow, what a breath of fresh air. We attended a program last night at the school where the school patrols were given their well-deserved badges, and where the teachers informed parents on many exciting things happening in class and many more to come. This school is definitely headed for an A school rating. Great Job!!!

That women had anger issues for sure and needs to be put in therapy! I remember crying in my moms bathroom because she wrote a note asking for me to go back down to 2 grade and my mom explaining she is doing it because she doesnt want me to be yelled at by her or upset after school because she was being bitchy to me! I was 9! 9!!! and dealing with such a devil! Laughed at me when I cried or pushed me to move faster in the hallways. She is lucky I was young and innocent if it was now I would have yelled at her back and attack. After I went back a grade because of her she did anything to pick on me in the hallways. I hope she burns in hell with her career. Now done about the teacher I wanna talk about the kids. I was bullied and beat on the play ground by 4 older kids and no one did ANYTHING! THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO SPEAK ABOUT IT WITH A TEACHER! IT WAS "YOUR FINE" OR "TATTLE TAIL" Thinking about what I went through kills me breaks me down in tears. I chopped my hair off out of anger that school made me upset with myself kids made me think I was ugly. I WAS HIDING UNDER A PURPLE JACKET FOR 2 YEARS BECAUSE THEY MADE ME HATE MY BODY. If you want your kid to deal with bullies and stupid teachers that dont care for your grades go right ahead and put them in this school. take it from someone who has seem the darkest deeps of this school dont just dont.
