So you like a good Yankee Candle? But, you hate their…read moreprices? And you of course don't have one of their BOGO coupons available at the moment? Sounds like a plan as to a limited extent I feel the same way. I live a little less than an hour away from Lehighton so while far, a trip to the Blue Mountain home office is not impossible looking for a cheaper alternative. As a point of context a typical Yankee Candle large jar is twenty four ounces with a burn time of 110-150 hours at a standard sticker price of $27.99. At Blue Mountain their large jars are listed at lasting 125-150 hours for a sticker price of $15.99. Of course the rub is that the scent from a BM candle is nowhere near as potent as one from Yankee. Sorry, but that is fact. But BM does have a ton of scents available and while not every scent is good (who the hell is buying the fresh cut grass candle?) the choices they offer easily rival Yankee. If you go for a visit to the home office in Lehighton a few things are noteworthy: 1. The hours on the door of the building list them as opening at 10am and their website lists directions to the store but no hours which is bizarre but they do open at 9am on weekdays. 2. The store has an entrance door on both sides of the building but the parking lot on the east side of the building is a little rough with pot holes so watch yourself lest you loose a tire or destroy your suspension. 3. Seemingly there is little to no heat in the building so if you are there on a cold day it doesn't feel all that different in the store as opposed to what it feels like outside. 4. Candles are not the only thing sold at the store as they also offer various country home decor items that while I suppose are nice, to me they would only be interesting to my grandmother. If you can't get to the store and live in the area chances are eventually you will come across a school age member of your family selling BM candles as they are big into school fundraising. Now I realize that not everyone can get their hands on something from Blue Mountain Candle with it being in Lehighton but if you can it's a decent alternative to Yankee until the next time they offer a BOGO coupon.

Yesterday I visited Cork & Candles to celebrate my 35th birthday with my fiancé, and while we…read moreenjoyed spending time together, the overall experience fell short - especially for my special occasion. The host was frequently absent and didn't provide much guidance or engagement during the experience. It felt a bit like we were left to navigate things on our own. Additionally, there was no acknowledgment of my birthday while there, which was disappointing given that this was the purpose of our visit. Even a small gesture or simple "happy birthday" would have gone a long way in making the experience feel more personal and celebratory. For the price point, I did expect a more elevated and attentive experience. Overall, it's a nice spot, I just wish the experience felt a bit more intentional - especially for moments you're celebrating.

Cork and Candles was defintely an amazing experience. Its my vacation from the hustle and bustle of…read morebeing a social worker and I decided to take myself out on a solo date to make candles! I looked on the website and I believe you have to book online only to reserve your spot. On the website, you can decide what experience you would like to have such as their signature candle in which you make two candles, the candle of the month or a cereal bowl candle experience. I chose the signature candle which was 75.00. Once I arrived, I noticed that the shop was cute and creatively decorated. I had the pleasure of meeting my host Becky who was sooo personable and simply Ahmazing! Becky explained how candle making works and discussed the scent bar in which I could choose between earthy, fruity or exotic scents for the candles and you can also select two candle jars. I decided to get a bigger candle jar which was an extra 10.00. Overall i became a chandler and made two beeyutiful candles and Becky gave me healing crystals and the large candle jar free of charge!! I was so grateful and appreciative being as tho It took me along time to accept nice things and blessings from people, I would always block it... but that's another story! Cork and candles!!! I will defintely be back for that cereal bowl candle which is also pre made for purchasing along with other creative candles. Great for couples, girls nite out, birthdays etc!
