This is not your grandmother's Zumba class! Great balance of cardio and strength, mix of styles from Latin to Bollywood to african to highland to anything you can think of. And so much fun! Even for a mature, graceless, sort of sedentary type like myself. Coming in at a close second is the trampoline classes (Google Fit and Jump, or look for them on Groupon). Thanks to being protected by the perimeter of your mini trampoline, you and your classmates are safe from my flailing arms and wonky rhythms. You will be amazed at how hard you work while feeling that schoolkid high of JUMPING! Another great full body workout. Both classes are very welcoming - doesn't matter who you are, you can do this. The studio is a bit hard to find because it's kind of in an alley, but it's perfectly safe. The studio itself has a nice floor but the only qualm I have is that there isn't any air conditioning (or at least it felt that way). In terms of the zouk class, it was about 2 hours long. There was a bit of stretch and warm up and they went over the basic steps and gave us 15-20 minute to practice as well. The instructors were very friendly and I was able to somewhat dance it (albeit poorly but I know the steps - just gotta work on the timing and musicality) after the workshop. The staff were very friendly as well and I plan to come here again.

Despite that, they automatically charged my card multiple times, nearly $2,000 in total, and ignored my emails and phone calls asking for clarification and refund. Only after I went in person did they refund part of it. Later, when my daughter stopped classes due to her heavy school workload, I followed their rules and paid for the first and last month as required, but the school still refused to refund the remaining tuition. I reached out many times but most of my messages were ignored. I've tried to handle this privately, but the school's lack of transparency and repeated unauthorized charges have been extremely disappointing. I share this review to warn other parents to be cautious about payment policies and communication issues with PSB & Interplay Dance.

The misconception of Dovercourt House is that it's mostly Swing dance,but there is also a huge Kizomba Sunday social every week, salsa, tango, contemporary dances, theatre, rehearsals and more. There are fun socials that happen, that cater to a wide demographic. There is a big sense of freedom there, but also a huge respect as it is a functioning business.

I've only been to classes in the first floor (zumba, Wednesday nights and Sunday morning), but I attend quite regularly so I'm in and out of there pretty regularly. While it's definitely a great location (hello monopoly!) and I am so grateful for it's existence, it could definitely use an upgrade. The floors are in great shape which is of course the most important feature of a dance studio, but it is lacking in quite a few other areas, mainly the air conditioning (um, there is none) and the washrooms (why are you so tiny and dingy?). Even with it's downfalls, Dovercourt House is still a great part of the neighbourhood.

When you walk in they have a little shoe area to take off your boots/shoes and then a rack to put your coat. You check yourself in where there are iPads. They said shoes go in half size so I am usually a 8 and ended up with a 7.5 which was a bit snug but manageable. Then there are lockers further down. I found it cute they wrote a little sign on your locker - welcome to cycle bar with your name as well. They also give you a little red plastic bottle with your name too so you can refill it with water. I filled mine and drank the entire thing during my class. You definitely work up a sweat. I tried a music video class - punk vs pop which was nice. Lots of blink 182, Rihanna, etc.

The studio is CLEAN, BRIGHT and TRENDY! Super modern. Rachel was my cycle instructor and she was soooooo energetic ; she explained everything throughly and made sure everyone was comfortable. The highlight of my ride was walking out sweaty and finding MIMOSAS on the bar !! What a great touch to their Sunday brunch ride. I will FOR SURE return , I'm excited to cycle with other instructors.
