Everyone walks through the sites and we could not pick where our site was so youre playing campsite roulette when you check in. The on site owners are snarky and will charge you for ANYTHING they can think of. WiFi isn't included, can't hook into 110 think worst nightmare, money pit and this is the location. The pics on their website don't even match the location. Good luck, if you want to shred your money and have a crappy stay you picked the right spot. I've noticed the reviews after we stayed wished I checked google and other RV places before just their website, you can see how their responses are even snarky and how people tell you to run. They do have two baby swings and one is attached to a regular swing so you can swing with your child. There are several pavilions you can rent out for a birthday party or various gatherings or you could stay at one of their campsites for a few nights. The lake view is beautiful and offers a good fishing spot or possibly pitch a hammock in some nearby trees for relaxation. Back in the day we used to play baseball in the side field. It's extremely spacious and offers the ability for your kids (or you) to run around.

It is a rustic, outdoorsy camp, no cell phones allowed here! Camp Mah-Kah-Wee is a Girl Scout camp. They offer programs throughout they year for girls and have overnight camps during the summer. I have been to Mah-Kah-Wee many times over the years with my daughters, and I really appreciate that we have a facility like this so close to home. The camp surrounds a lake so there are many water activities like canoeing and kayaking available during the summer. There is also a swimming pool. They offer all of the standard camp activities like archery and crafts and they also have an obstacle course. My kids love this place. During the summer the week-long camps are themed so you can find something to match your child's interests. As for the facilities, the best place to stay is in the cabins. They have air conditioning! In Florida you NEED air conditioning in the summer. I've also chaperoned overnights in the tents, which aren't so bad, and a building they call the Eco Center, which is a bit more like a enclosed porch... no AC there. Overall, it's a great place. I highly recommend it. The prices for overnight camp are very good and the kids have a great time.

The lake and the road leading to it became known as Red Bug Lake and Red Bug Lake Road because of the abundance of the biting red bugs. Thankfully there is no longer any sign of the biting red bugs. Today Red Bug Lake is the site of a popular park with a variety of recreational amenities. These include a restroom, playground, baseball field, sand volleyball court, outdoor exercise equipment, tennis courts, fishing pier, and boardwalk. Adult softball leagues and adult and youth tennis programs are offered in the park. This park is clean and well maintained. I especially enjoyed taking in nature and wildlife on the .9 mile paved walking trail that circles the lake. I was able to spot several birds. It is ideal for joggers, walkers, and anyone looking to participate in gentle exercise. The park also has a picnic area with tables and grill for family gatherings and cookouts. This park is a great recreational spot for relaxing, exercising, and enjoying family time.

Basically, a battle of the local rock and roll bands - a variety of different members from different bands come together on two teams for one day with a purpose to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tickets are only $5, bring a foldup chair, 10x10 tent, a cooler and it's a great time watching all of our friends compete with one another on the field. Torcaso Cove Park is a great place to hold this event. There is a spacious field with plenty of space on the sidelines for fans. There are several parking areas available making parking easy for large events. There was plenty of space for a half-time show with live music right by the field. There were also a BBQ vendor and several other vendors on site selling food, jewelry, and other items. The park has a public restroom, a playground, splash park, sand pits, plenty of paved walking areas, a picnic area with tables, large pavilion, a beautiful bridge that crosses the heart shaped cove, the park has a bunch of Muscovy ducks waddling around and is dog friendly, what else can you ask for. Nancy and I really enjoyed our time at the park, we will definitely be back to bring our dog and take a nice walk. I just have to mention that it was a bit muddy on the field, even on a hot sunny day. So be sure to wear something you don't care about getting dirty.

While it is a lively park and can get busy from time to time, especially on the days the run/walk clubs are there, it is usually a nice park to visit solo and enjoy the peace of the surroundings offered. There is more than enough open green space and a good amount of seating throughout the park. The park also maintains various courts/area for various sporting events like baseball, volleyball, soccer, and various other outdoor activities. As far as proximity to other areas, this park is also located a short distance from the shopping and food eateries in Baldwin Park. So, after enjoying a great workout or just strolling through the park, you can pop over to Baldwin Park for some food and beverages. The only challenge, at times, is parking. Parking in this area (in general) is just tricky; however, there is street parking throughout the neighborhood near the park as well as a designated parking lot for the park itself. However, you can also park throughout the Baldwin Park area and just walk to the park from there. Before I close this out, I've gone to numerous events in this park as well, so it is great for hosting various community events (of course, with the proper permits, etc.). All in all, Blue Jacket Park is really just a great park.

Boating camping and…read moremanatees Henry Mullet park is a 151 acre park located right on the St John's River and the 600 acre Mullet Lake. With all that water around it's a great place to fish or launch a boat but they also have a small campground surrounded by beautiful and mature trees. For shorter trips they have a nice pavilion for picnics and some clean bathrooms with hot and cold running water. Quite a luxury. There is room for a nice walk but it's not really a park for hiking. The attraction here is all the water with great fishing and lots of huge aquatic birds. There is no fee to get in and like many Floridian parks it's open 24 hours a day. The park includes a large flood plain and it can get really muddy in the wet season and occasionally the water gets high enough to close the boat ramp and campground. A small price to pay for being so close to all this water.
