I am in search of a vintage covered vegetable dish, and so far have not found one that I like. I had passed Barntique a couple of times, but decided to go on a Friday. It's a collection of little houses and sheds, all antique and collectible shops. Adorable!! Not all the places were open--they are on Saturdays--but I did wander into a couple. I didn't find a covered dish, but I did find a lamp that I liked (didn't buy it as I would need to find a place for it) and spoke with some VERY nice, friendly shop owners. The shops are all very individual. Some specialize in a certain type of collectible, some sell art, and others have a variety of offerings. Prices were generally quite reasonable. I will definitely go back on a Saturday, probably with a friend, and wander through more of the shops. I'm positive that I took pictures, but I can't find them. Will add if I do. read more

There are definitely plenty of unique places to shop for stuff. Everybody's got stuff and sometimes one person's stuff just doesn't work for them anymore and so it can be someone else's stuff. Consider Barntique Village a great place to find some of this...stuff. I use that word "stuff" because this interestingly-setup Moriches location is filled with all kinds of it. Before I say another word about...stuff, I do want to mention that you could easily think Barntique is actually a little historical village or a place to have a picnic. Nah. It's actually just filled with stuff. Tons of tiny barns, houses, shacks, and anything else that can fit a person inside of it can be found at Barntique, each one offering an eclectic variety of...well, you know. My fiancée and I (along with her family) came here a few weekends ago and stumbled upon some great finds. Some wall items for our new home, a rustic-looking bread box, and a little Christmas decor to round out the trip. What's great is that we didn't pay full price for anything we bought as the idea of Barntique is similar to a flea market. Haggling price is totally something doable (if you want to) and so we were able to shave some dollars off most of our purchases. So when you come, there's definitely a chance to find some great stuff, but in between the positives, there is a lot of stuff you're just going to have to sift through. A few of the shacks and shops were set up beautifully while many were rather messy. Plus one of them (the biggest barn in the village) wasn't open and another was still setting up though the owners weren't the friendliest. Some time, patience, and sifting is definitely helpful here. Overall, I'd give Barntique Village a 3.5 star rating with a little nudge towards four knowing we found several great items the day we went. With that in mind, it makes it desirable to want to return to Barntique again. Though just be warned as you might have to do your best to get through a lot of...things (Ha!) if you want to find something worth buying. read more

DON'T BOTHER. This place claims to have 21 dealers and to be open Fri, Sat, & Sun. But we arrived early afternoon Friday and ONLY 1 DEALER WAS OPEN, apparently the owner of Barntique. Clearly her main source of revenue is just collecting rent from 20 other dealers who just use the shacks and small huts on the property to store their merchandise and presumably sell online. Perhaps a few of these dealers show up on Sat & Sunday--but clearly most of them are uninterested in ftf interaction with potential customers and don't bother to show. Absolutely in love with this place! The people are so incredibly sweet and genuine. Customer service is 10/10! Beautiful, beautiful selection of all types of antiques. Came here because I was a little curious. It was a cute set up, though I was a little disappointed. We were told that only the main barn...which was actually a barn and a couple around the parking area were open. The large/main barn had cool stuff and things were neatly displayed. At places like these you can haggle, but in my experience and knowledge, some items were placed a little on the higher side. I proceeded to go to the rest of the other "barns". I say "barns" because they're not really...they're really just storage sheds of various sizes. One shed was so packed tight that you could barely walk in. It was hard to see anything in there so we just walked right back out. Another shed was well maintained and very reasonably priced. I wanted a few things from there...the only problem was finding someone to talk to. All in all, I'm guessing this place is busier during the weekends? Maybe all the barns/sheds would be open then? Until then, I'll be back to give them another try. read more

Honestly I haven't been there in a few years but when I did go (2or3) times I found it enjoying. I love antiques so if you're into that I would recommend. Please note this is a series of little sheds and barns so if it's raining you'll need an umbrella. Happy hunting. read more

Essentially a junk shop. The "village" is a bunch of sheds on a small dirt lot. A lot of stuff is left outside exposed to the weather. You have to come at the right time or all the vendors won't be open, as was the case when I visited. Probably not coming back. read more

This place is NUTS, in a good way. A series of buildings, each with its own collection of...stuff. The shops in the house in front of the complex are antiquey and no bargain. Some of the others look like you just opened Grandma's shed after 60 years. I've gone here for decades, literally. You want vintage pocketbooks? Lamp parts? Rusted Prince Albert cans? The dollhouse you had in the early 1960s? A Russian light up icon? They've got it all. Some shops come and go. There was an outhouse full of books once. There are also yard sheds full of furniture. The vendors are as mixed a bag as their wares. No place like it. Come and see the show, it's a dyamo. read more

This is a neat place that is made up of a number of different-sized 'barns' each of which appears to contain an independent seller. The setup is kind of neat and the location is nice. When I went, most of the barns were closed but the main one and the one behind it were open. The main one had some 'guy stuff' which was nice (I would have been pretty bored otherwise). I would not have ever stopped because it looks like a barn sales "lumber" kind of place. I didn't know it was a large yard sale -indoor and out as well as antique spot and excellent place to find cheap and expensive specialty items. If you like brand names one of the barns has an upstairs with Prada, Cole, Escada, etc for coats, dresses, suits and more. They have shoes as well.. like consignment but good selection. Then in the back area of the property the barns mostly have antiques. A must visit. read more

I usually go to Remember Yesteryears in Oakdale, but this is what antiquing is supposed to be like. Its an amazing outdoor village with dozens & dozens of individual barns and different dealers selling items in each one. (Love the concept!) So much more quaint than an antique mall. Though I do think some prices are a bit higher than the average antique dealer at Remember Yesteryears and after strolling through each barn today no one tried to offer me any discounts even though I struck up conversations with the dealers and showed interest in some items. Very friendly however, but I didnt buy anything today. Ill definitely go back again soon. read more

This place is really unusual! Historic local buildings are lined up with small sheds filled with antiques and collectibles. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because during the week not all shops are open simultaneously. On the weekends, though, all are open! Great place go check it out :) read more
