We brought our vehicle to a Buick dealership in Florida. After they performed a dye diagnostic check of the system, they said the front and auxiliary evaporator cores were leaking and needed to be replaced and quoted $5266 for the repairs. The estimate seemed excessive so we decided to get a second opinion. Brought our vehicle to Grinnell Motors. Had the same dye diagnostic check done. The technician at Grinnell Motors said only the rear evaporator core was leaking and needed to be replaced; the front evaporator core was fine and not leaking. I live in the Wolf Creek subdivision, so it's literally within walking distance from my house. But that isn't the best part. The best part is the service. Cars are expensive these days. Of course, I take in my car regularly for oil changes and brake pads. Recently, I was having issues with the plastic in the front wheel-wells coming loose. They fixed that for me with no charge. Also, fairly recently, I needed an oil change on short notice due to an upcoming trip. I dropped off my car on a Thursday night after hours. They were able to work in my oil change on Friday. They don't recommend maintenance my car doesn't actually need, they've never surprised me with a bigger than expected bill, and they've been very flexible with scheduling. My wife tells me she's going to start taking her vehicle there, too.

Try this on for size, I go up to O 'Reilly's get it for $140. Do it myself. Saved myself the money, kept it out of his greedy pockets, and I'd never recommend this dump or their mechanics to anyone. And I'll spread the word. Town's a little small to be treating people like sh$t. They are full of pride and are very rude. There are much better mechanics everywhere.

The service manager , Jeff, was determined to solve the problem unlike other dealers we dealt with in the past. We felt like he really believed us about what was wrong rather then dismissing the problem. The salesman, Ken, was very knowledgeable about the new car we bought. Without his showing us how everything worked we would have had to scour the owners manual for days. Lauterbach didn't have the car we were looking for in stock but they found one exactly like we wanted. Overall it was a fun and pleasant experience.

They lied to me about what they were going to charge and then on top of that charged over the retail price for parts so they could cushion their pockets. After arguing with them over that, they then called me the day my car was supposed to be ready & said it would be a whole another day before I got my car back & that they still would compensate me for any inconveniene. Not sure if this was done in spite or not. When I finally did get to pick up my car all of my white leather was covered in grease from the mechanic and no one had the audacity to wipe it clean. I will say that everyone else who I dealt with on the phone including Brady the GM was friendly.
