Had my insurance call Barneys for a tow for my 2005 F350 and the guy never showed up wit's a tow truck. He drove by in his personal vehicle, and never stopped. I called the number to contact the driver and he said he never saw the truck. He then told me what he was driving and that he drove through but didn't see the truck but rather a blue Chevy. So he lied to me then told me to Fuck off cause insurance companies all lie about location and whether or not the keys are with the vehicle or not Save yourself some time and don't call them for a tow read more

Just a note: I'm writing from my daughter's account since she suggested writing about my outstanding experience with Barney's Wrecker. (This is Richard Majeski from Holdingford, MN). My brother and I found ourselves in Iowa with a serious problem with our newly purchased (used) 25 ft. trailer that we could not handle. We stopped at barney's and it did not look good for us, it was very busy. After explaining our problem to the boss, he told us to pull up in front of the door, he then pulled one of his employees off the job he was working on and had him tend to our problem. It took about 45 minutes, and the guy wasn't even upset about working in the rain. Come time to pay the bill, ( dread ), he says, " How bout 10 bucks ?" My family and I were on I-80 going west and we soon underestimated the amount of gas we had. We called 911 and they soon sent us to barneys phone number. From there we thought we were good and didnt need a bill. The worker told us to meet him at the next exit. So we did. And he walks up to the window and hands my sister a $124.63 bill. How does the bill equal $124 when the worker drove 4 miles and gave us $8 worth of gas? read more

Barney's was the second step for me after my alternator failed on westbound I-88 as I was heading to Kansas City Missouri on Sunday December 22nd at 3 in the afternoon...wow. I knew nobody nor a clear direction to head for a truck repair. The tow truck driver dispatched by my insurance company from Central Iowa Towing and Recovery in Des Moines...Steven Kibbee, a treasure in his own right... took me and my Ford Ranger to Barney's for the repair as he felt they could hop on it first thing Monday morning. A call to Barney's at 7:30 a.m. Monday morning confirmed they would get to me and they would "holler back" with the cost. At 8:45 they called with the cost and at 9:30 they called to tell me my truck was ready. at 9:45 they picked me up at my hotel, I stopped in and paid my bill and had the pleasure to talk with Barney. Salt of the earth, true gentleman, all business with the singular goal of servicing customers to get them back on the road. A true pleasure to deal with start to finish and I was on cloud 9 heading to KCMO to spend Christmas with my wife and son. My wife & I were traveling on I80 through Iowa, pulling our 32' travel trailer when we experienced (2) blow outs on on our way to Utah to visit the National Parks. Fortunately, I had (2) spares so I could continue driving, but had no trailer brakes because tire tread chunks broke my brake line on the second blow out. The next exit was Newton, Iowa that had a KOA campground that had room for us. Since this was late Sat. afternoon, no tire shops were open until Monday. The Owner of the campground said that Barney's had tires and did mechanical work. I called Barney at home and he agreed to help us the first thing Monday morning. Although they were busy, he put someone on it right away. He had (2) tires in inventory, had them mounted, balanced & installed before 9 AM. He repaired the broken brake wire and we were on the road by 10 AM. The tire prices were very reasonable and they only charged us $20 for the brake line repair. They were fast, friendly and very reasonable. Highly recommended! read more
