I can honestly say I had an outstanding experience with Falvo Funeral Home in Webster NY for recent (February 2017) services for my dad. Though this was a difficult time for us, I must say that everyone made the experience outstanding. The end to end experience was simply better than best. Everyone was pleasant, attentive, professional, and understanding. Diana Falvo and Rick Falvo were particularly great. Being unprepared we started asking a few friends about the experiences they had with funeral homes in the area. The one name that came recommended multiple times was falvo's. Well we had been there a few times and if you have seen the building your first thought would probably be similar to mine which was we couldn't afford to go there. So we decided to call the smaller funeral homes in the area first and after the first two phone calls we noticed two things; prices apparently vary pretty significantly and even though this should be a time of compassion both calls were extremely business like with no sorry for your loss and a lot of talk about money and it being required at the time of our meeting. Well that all changed when we finally decided to call the falvo's. Within the first breathe of me explaining the situation I was FINALLY greeted with a very sorry for your loss and at this time I can answer as many questions you may have. It may sound simple but that was the first time I felt comfortable in these conversations. After a few minutes of discussing our options and the price differences we were shocked to find that not only were they extremely caring but their cost for the same services was less than the two other funeral homes. I can not explain how grateful we are for making her look so beautiful that we ended up keeping the casket open even though she had been sick for so long we didn't think it was going to be possible. Typically funeral homes are not something you shop around or compare to much, but we found ourselves facing a terminal diagnosis with a few months to prepare. Knowing nothing about funeral home I just kinda stopped in on one. After 3 trips and lots of bad information, bad care, and not returned calls I said this is not how it is supposed to be. I sought out recommendations from others (which I should have done first with this type of service) and Zirbel came highly recommended. I talked to them and instantly knew this is how it is supposed to be. Caring, receptive, quick to answer questions. We were able to plan just want we wanted and they did an incredible job. Karen was extreamly wonderful and we could not have asked for better service. So on the off chance you don't have someone you can call and get the recommendation we got, I wanted to share our good experience in a sad situation.

Completely different funeral home and experience. Could not and still do not understand the cost for her cremation.

We were grateful for their support during our burial of my dad in 2017, so we chose them again. Steve Sedlock as director and his team provided support that was thoughtful and respectful. Calling hours before the mass of burial gave us a chance to connect with my mom's circle of friends. The instructions for the pallbearers were clear and the process of bringing her coffin into the church for the mass and then taking her in the procession to the Pleasant Grove cemetery all went smoothly. Parting with a parent is always difficult but we felt cared for in a respectful way. They were also helpful with logistical legwork which reduced stress at a time when we really wanted to focus on mom.
