Since the Korbs retired, the way this office has changed is alarming. I can only hope and pray no one else has the experince i did involving Ms. Barker and Dr. Laura. Ecspecially in such an emotional time, when someone is just looking for the best care for their pet. Not to mention someone whos volunteered there and been a patient at that office for almost 17 years such as i have and the patient they are there with is their registered service animal for PTSD and other mental health conditions. I know the Korbs spent their life building that office and dedicated themselves to saving the lives of animals, one reason i loved that place so much because i to had plans of being a vet and was even in school to do so. They was doing exactly what i wanted to do and that was to help animals and their owners in ensuring every pet got the care they needed without breaking the bank, as well as educating and assisting loving owners on the best ways to care for their babies and their conditions, as well as easing the owners pain in sometimes what is a very tramatic situation when dealing with the loss or possible loss of their fur baby. The way Ms. Barker treated me on my first visit was appauling, I was blamed for my dog being sick, when i was asking questions or trying to explain something that was a concern on multiple occasions i was cut of mid sentence and given a condesending response. When i explained i didnt have much money but was going to use all the bill money i had to ensure my baby was okay things were not mentioned or left out about on going care in order to cost me more money. I was almost shamed for not having had my dog fixed before her first heat, as well as not watching her in her own yard as she was tied out and a neighbors loose dog potentially mating with her. I was charged for a blood test tht i wanted her to be checked for pregnancy along with the other ones being ran and that did not happen. knowing my financial situation was not informed of an extra office visit fee i would have to pay to get an ear cytology done and would have been more affordable if i had gone ahead and had it done that same day. Then was called with results and being told i HAD to buy this perscription dog food that was up to 150 bucks for a 30lb bag because my dog had pancreatitis and would be sick again if i didnt. in which i went to their office and paid 40 bucks for and fed my dog with, only to be told on my next visit that dog food i was sold was wrong. by Dr. luara who was doing my dogs ear cytology because i had then been told i could buy otc dog food and had called asking what ingredient amount or brands i could buy that was safe bc my dog didnt like the purina and was told id have a list waiting when i came in the next day for my appoiment. which was not done, nor did it seem as tho anyone could tell me or knew honestly and laura said she would email it to me by the end of the day and i even told her my dog was out of food and i needed to know so she wasnt going hungry but of course i never got that email. when i was told my dog had an ear infection related to yeast i asked what could cause it and how to prevent it and got ignored and this is all happening in the waiting room in front of a recepetionist who was doing her best to help me. But i was so confused on why my questions wasnt being answered and why dr laura was being so rude to me honestly. I was then charged 132 bucks for a visit i had been quoted would be 95 before the 30 meds my dog eneded up needing and asked to be refunded the dog food i was sold and said id come back with my original quote after i was told prices had just changed. when i was finally sent the email the next day all i needed to have been told... was any food i bought needed to be less then 18% in fat or less the 8% fat, i still havent been told what things may cause a yeast infection in my dogs ear other then allergies. when i was back up there the next day getting my refund dr luara said she didnt answer my question cause i was in a rush but put in her drs notes i was over whelmed. which considering the way i was being treated as well as all the money i was wasting more or less due to everything going on is understandable. At this point i was $500 in the hole and being told id atleast be lookin at another 170 and being mistreated and blamed and drs were refusing to educate me to prevent the ear infection from reacurring and lied to honestly about the food i needed.. in which i am aware of the fact that the office gets commison from doing and perscribing me even if they dont carry it which again shows the greed for money despite the owner and pets sitaution. but worst of all is wheni got my records for my dog and came across the apparent mental health diagnoses that dr barker felt she could diagnose me with which is (munhausen syndrome)in which is basically her claiming i am abusing or intentionally makeing my dog sick in order to money or sympathy. read more
