This place was good when Dr. Sylvester was there longer ago. He did a great job for Cocoa when she…read morehad some type of infection or something when she was three. Never did find out what it was actually, but he did every test that I asked for and nothing that I didn't need or that was too expensive or anything like that, always consulted with me as to what specific tests did I want done and never ever alarmed me too much with any of the results, and even had a wonderful and terrific great sense of humor about the whole thing too. (As in. "You're going to get a kick out of this. Fever of unknown origin." I said. "You're right, I do get a kick out of that." Grin.) He was a great guy. One of the best that I've been to. Unfortunately his successor at the same place is somewhat less good. Good guy too but just less well informed. Says that Dr. Sylvester "was his mentor" but in my opinion doesn't seem to have learned nearly enough from him (sigh). Good guy and good sense of humor but. And this is a big but. Went to him for a kitten who DID turn out to have worms, unfortunately he didn't see fit to medicate for it because the test results showed negative ("she does not have worms" according to whoever told me about it over the phone, which was actually a female tech or a female receptionist and NOT the actual vet so I don't actually know what he would have said, so just to be fair about that too). Later she FINALLY got medicated a little late. Worms can be serious for a kitten and I do feel like it's possible that her quality of life could have been better sooner if she had gotten the worm medication earlier. She was unusually tired for a kitten, about ever since I got her, AND appeared to perhaps possibly maybe have a slightly distended (but still soft) abdomen when I first got her AND the person I got her from, who worked for a local rescue society, mentioned that a kitten had been returned to the same society, at some point in time, for having worms. (So there's that. Sigh. Three things at least that could indicate it or anyway at least the possibility of it.) She also did not seem to be very healthy ever as far as her overall condition. Her overall health was decent but not actually ever very particularly ideal or excellent. This state of affairs continued through the entire time that I had her. Dr. Arcouri stated that "she's healthy" and then "she's very healthy", and the second time in particular I really didn't think that I could actually agree. I have certainly seen kittens sicker but for a supposedly "very healthy" kitten her condition was not all that great. Ever. Disappointed in the quality of care here and could not help noticing that things seemed a bit haphazard and that Dr. Arcouri once stated that he tested for worms in puppies "if I think of it" (sigh ). Not good outlook, for sure. Attitude less of a problem and more just a type of forgetfulness, or something, but still, not particularly good, that sort of thing, you know. Just saying that too. Now you know why we didn't go back. Nice people, however. Just a bit misinformed or maybe misguided, in some ways. Sigh. Will wait until their newer and younger vet has more experience, before I go back. Or, will ask for a different vet, next time. Or, possibly even both. (Sigh.) Not ideal but not as bad overall as I'm probably making it sound. Just make sure that they do make sure to look harder and sooner for the right things. Thanks for reading this, if by now you finally have. Long review, I know. Sigh.

It is with a sad heart that I am changing my 5 star review into a 1 star review. I will post my…read moreoriginal review through the images. A few years ago we got a cat and this location was our favorite spot for our animal. In fact, they have used our image of our Ragdoll kitten, as their main default image on Yelp. In early February of 2022, I made an appointment to bring in our cat for a check up. Our favorite Doctor Sylvester has cut back on his hours in this establishment. When I made the appointment, it was a month in advance to get a specific day with Sylvester. I spoke with an employee about, if my wife and I would be able to come in together with our cat. It was expressed that it would be ok if we both came in together. That's why we specifically scheduled a day that we were both off of work together. On 03/05/2022, we came in with our cat Mosby for an appointment at 1:30pm. When we got to the door, it was locked. The receptionist appeared to go out of her way to avoid our presence at the front door. The front desk is about 6 feet from the clear front door. She was clearly trying hard to avoid us. We read a sign that said to call and wait in the car. We called and the receptionist answered the phone rudely. The customer service from her and the other employees on duty was so highly disrespectful and unprofessional. The way in which they communicated and treated us was beyond disgusting. Their tones and choice of words was shocking to observe in person. From my recollection, it was three separate female employees that all had the same horrible attitude. I asked if I could personally speak with the Doctor. This request was denied. They stated that only one person was allowed to go inside with the cat and appeared to enjoy losing us as a possible patient. I chose to go inside by myself and have a last conversation with Doctor Sylvester. I shared to Sylvester how highly upset I was with the professionalism of the staff with our arrival. Explaining how a host at a restaurant plays such a huge role for when someone enjoys good service from a waiter. Warm greetings and sincere exit acknowledgments, basic 101 lessons for any business. And that on this day, the greeting was cold and extremely unfriendly. Maybe you could argue I was upset at basic policy. But another person with a positive attitude would have left a completely different outcome of this visit. It was more than the policy. I then passed up on our important scheduled exam and will no longer be coming back to this location. I think that Sylvester is an amazing Doctor. But the downfall of the staff leading up to the doctors is a concern worth investigating, if you care about the success of this establishment. I've previously written a 5 star raving review. But on this visit, I was remarkably left unsettled and frustrated for the lack of decency among the receptionist and co-workers that clearly were not happy working within this company. I'm sure people within the company can recognize what I'm stating. I was going out of my way to meet up with Sylvester, my time will be better spent elsewhere moving forward. I've observed how Doctors can be too focused on their patients and fail to realize the staff taking advantage of their positions. The failure of the staff is just as much a responsibility, as the failure of the ones in a higher position choosing to not address needed issues within a lackluster company. Good Luck, it's never to late to make needed changes.

We pulled up to our spot and waited less than 5 mins before a technician came out. As soon as I handed her off they were so sweet chatting with her and I could tell she was going to be in good hands. Like the instructions said, a payment link was sent in the afternoon and it was easy to checkout. Pickup was easy too and I loved that they not only gave verbal instructions but also written (great for my forgetfulness). Her incision was very small and looked clean, I could tell my pup felt a million times better the next day since she was back to her usual energy levels again and we had to refrain her play. **tip that I wish I did if I scheduled the appt more in advance: order a few soft dog cones/donuts/surgical suits in advance to find what will work best. I loved the suggestion of a surgical suit, I could tell she was way more comfortable in that.

The shelter itself is an open concept (minus cats who must be separated) and I think that's pretty neat. You get to see the cats in an environment they're used to and they become comfortable/social with humans. You can also check out their personality and see if they fit well with you. The staff working here are kind/you can tell they enjoy what they do! They answer questions and walk you through the very easy adoption process. In comparison to other places, I noticed the adoption fee was about 100$ less, so that is cool. I adopted Spud - also known as " The profesor" ( the name they gave him) last February and he has become a lovely addition to my pet family. He came with a bag of the food they were feeding him, a blanket and some coupons. It took him some time to adjust, I suspect he might've been feral prior to coming to CCS (His left ear is clipped- which I think is TNR program?) but once he did he is the best companion. He also gets along with my senior cat well. The cats here are socialized, sweet and there's tons to check out. Someone for anyone - if you're looking/ready to take that step. I recommend!
