(I lost his name shortly afterwards, unfortunately, or I wouldn't have needed to call this service again.) Since then, the referrals have been made to "shyster" types who seem reluctant to offer any real legal advice during the inexpensive half-hour introductory session and are simply interested in selling their services. Still, my first experience was so positive that it makes up for the lack of professionalism I've experienced here since then.

To make matters more confusing, I couldn't locate the named executor. After an in-person meeting to review next steps and sign a retainer, I later ended up finding both the original will and the executor. In an act of rare integrity, Louis told me the contracted work (and the estimated fees) were no longer necessary -- and tore up the agreement. I was stunned.
