That associate told me he would file it and update me. In the following phone calls w him, he was very rude to me and also started to dodge my calls. My case got passed back to Mr. Vega and I was told he would file it at that time (~May 2022). In July of 2022 (about 3 months later) I emailed Mr. Vega asking for an update as now I was nervous that another 6+ months would go by with no progress. No response. I start calling the office to make an appointment with Mr. Vega. I was given the number to call at the scheduled appointment time. I would call and get no answer, sometimes the inbox would be full so I couldn't even leave a message. This happened numerous times. Again. For months. In October of 2022 I finally reached a point of desperation as I felt I had lost all the money I paid to Mr. Vega. I wrote a final email to him requesting an update because I felt he had abandoned me as a client and would file a complaint to the State Bar of California. Finally got a response lol. He sent me proof that he had filed my case ... THAT DAY ... 10/27/2022. Over a year later. We went through the next step which was a hearing on zoom with a judge. After that hearing, he said he would let me know if there was anything else I needed to do but for now we just wait for the approval. Don't hear anything back from him, so I assume we're done with our part. Then I get a letter stating that my case was denied because there was a second hearing that I failed to attend. But he never told me about it !!!! Again, I went through various forms of contact to try to talk to Mr. Vega. He claims there's something he can do to either file again or try to appeal that decision, I just have to sign a few more things and send him more bank statements. I do that, and again, he ghosts me. It's now May 2023 !! Almost 2 full years and my case has not been resolved yet. I've given Mr. Vega numerous chances to rectify his mistakes, and numerous warnings that I will file a complaint with the State Bar of California if he does not do what I paid him to do or at least give me my money back so I can find a lawyer who will. TLDR: do not hire Mr. Vega. He will take your money and ghost you or he will do your case incompetently (and late) and cost you your case.
