Was not satisfied with their professionalism. Wanted a trim on certain problem areas during summer…read morefor my dog. They did not really go over what I wanted, just quickly "yeah, yeah'd" me and took the dog. When I picked my dog up, no one discussed the trim and just let me take her and check for myself when we got home and I could see her underside what was done. It was not what I was expecting, nor did it cover the areas requested. It was not a big deal in my opinion however so I didn't call or say anything. I received an email from them to review the services, so I took the opportunity they presented to me. I said I was unsatisfied and thought the trim was less than instructed. To that short statement I received a very immature response complete with full caps "YOU"s blaming me for the misunderstanding and saying that the negative feedback made it "too late to make it right". It also made comments about the requested service that were not accurate, furthering my belief that they didn't actually listen when I was talking to them concerning it. I decided to call the manager to give her a chance to behave in a mature manner and discuss the issue at hand which for me at this point was getting yelled at via text with all the caps etc. I got yelled at over the phone and told that the email was not "asking our thoughts of the service" and that the "negative review was what upset her". The email requests "feedback". Feedback is one's reaction to a service or product aka "our thoughts of the service". The manager told me she made motions over her body to my mother on where the dog was to be trimmed which was not accurate- the trim was discussed over the phone and not again in person. I guess I should be sorry for using your chosen platform to let you know how I felt about the service. But your response was way out of line, and frankly a little irrational. Then the response over the phone was combative and again out of line. If you don't want negative feedback, go over the services given before your customer leaves. The manager seemed to be dumbfounded that we would even expect them to go over the trim when returning the dog to us. As if we should be able to see the belly of a large dog with long side hair from standing or would want to kneel on their floor with all the dog traffic to inspect for ourselves... The lack of professionalism when I dropped her off and picked her up were enough to make me look elsewhere, however the response to my brief and non accusing review is what made me decide to definitely not return and warn others that this place is not necessarily worth giving business to.

My usual groomer had to get surgery for arm...rotator cuff or something, so I asked the cyber…read moreuniverse to recommend a place for me and a ton of people raved about this place. Of course I had to give them a try! First I brought in my long-haired chihuahua and told them to shave him down. He looked great! He did have a bad rash on his butt from caked-on mud and poo. He healed quickly tho. Then I brought in my standard yorkie and asked for him to be shaved down. (It's hot in the summer!) They did and I forgot how skinny he looked underneath all that hair! It's $50 because I asked for a bath, nails, and a cut. Totally worth it. They even put an adorable bandanna on your pup when they're done. I love that I can drop off my dog(s) super early in the morning. (Like, 6:45am) It helps with my schedule. It's a cute little place tucked back on a dirt road and tons of trees. I think I'll just stay with these guys! They do an awesome job.

I don't live in town anymore so I'm not able to get to Petco frequently, or any pet store for that…read morematter. My go-to store for pet food and supplies is Bomgaars, as my choices are either that or Hy-Vee, Walmart, Shopko, etc. I had some time recently to take my newest dog into Petco for his first visit and it couldn't have been better! Everyone was SO friendly and accommodating. There were workers throughout the store doing projects, stocking, greeting customers and pets in between their work, and the groomers seemed very busy and in demand. I've been in and out of this store since I was in elementary school and it is clear to see from anyone's perspective that the store could use some updates. One thing is, their bathroom is in the back- like the back back. They have signs directed you to the restrooms, so there really is no confusion or fuss there.. But you have to go through a short, half door that one would expect to be 'employees only,' and go past some shelves and storage of what looks like, a back room that is for employees only. But really no biggie, it's a quick transit, just a few steps and you see the bathroom. There's almost always an employee in that back area working so even though I know where the restrooms are, I always ask before just barging in there to use the facilities. Out of politeness, mostly, but I can see where new or shy customers wouldn't feel comfortable just traipsing back there. I think if Petco's corporate office could take this into consideration for the sake of convenience and not wanting to confuse or mislead customers, they should really look into re-routing the restrooms to an area with easier access. The staff has always been friendly and attentive on my every visit I can recall! Last year I even purchased the calendar with all the coupons on it that supports animas in need.. I hardly have the chance/remember the coupons for a visit to Petco, but I appreciate all that Petco does for pets in general and in the community. There is ALWAYS something in the store showing how they are contributing to the local area. Also, very helpful that they have little stations throughout the store that allow you to clean up after your pet's mess if they potty inside the store. I made use of these stations TWICE in my last visit. Oh and! The cashiers are friendly and greet your pet and offer a free treat from the treat bar. :) Now, for my favorite part.... The sales! I seriously get THE BEST prices on discounted toys, stuffed animals, clothing for my pets. (I don't dress my pets on the regular, but do I have a few sets of hilarious costumes or bunny ears that are funny to see them wear every once in a while? You bet I do. Lol) Anyways, I really do enjoy this store. I like to give it my business because of my past positive experiences and because I remember this store from childhood significantly.

We were called by phone today re a review we wrote concerning their grooming policy a few years…read moreago. We actually complimented the groomer but mentioned that our four month old puppy was traumatized by the constant loud barking in the background. So they decided to block us on their website because of this reasonable review, which was unbeknownst to us until today. We will NEVER shop at Petco again after discovering their lack of integrity and backhanded activity of blocking us. (And we've been shopping there for the past two years in our ignorance.). PetSmart will always be our choice now. You may consider making a similar decision if you value your right to offer a business a sensible review. Otherwise, Petco will simply punish you (blocking) as if you were an errant child.
