I loved this grooming service but not having a consistent fee schedule is too shady for us now. What made it worse was my neighbors dog weighs more than ours and they paid $140. When I first visited, the puppies were undeniably adorable. I was immediately drawn to my puppy, who sat quietly in a glass enclosure. At the time, I thought she was calm and gentle. Looking back, I now realize she was actually very sick. When we were placed in a small room to interact with her, she barely moved. Her breathing was shallow, and something didn't feel right but like many people, I trusted the assurances that all of their puppies were healthy and cleared of congenital issues. Shortly after bringing her home, her condition worsened. She was lethargic, not playful, and began showing alarming neurological symptoms. After multiple emergency vet visits, sleepless nights, and emotional stress, she was diagnosed with a liver shunt a serious congenital condition that should have been identified before she was ever sold. What followed was months of intense care. My family and I were devastated. We spent countless hours at veterinary appointments, administering medications every few hours, and managing a strict, specialized diet. Her condition caused constant discomfort and restlessness due to toxin buildup in her body. It completely disrupted our daily lives, I even had to step away from work to care for her. After consulting with a specialist, we learned that surgery was her only chance at survival. The costs were overwhelming thousands of dollars just for diagnostics, and even more for the surgery itself. We ultimately had to travel out of state, driving 12 hours to Florida, just to get her the care she needed. This entire experience has been one of the most traumatic things my family has ever endured. We were led to believe we were bringing home a healthy puppy, but that simply was not the case. Based on her condition, it is hard to understand how this could have been missed with even basic observation and proper veterinary screening. I was also pressured into signing "as-is" paperwork and declined additional programs because I viewed this puppy as a living being not something transactional. In my opinion, this business operates without adequate regard for the health and well being of the animals they sell. I encourage others to consider adoption through local shelters or to carefully research reputable, ethical breeders. No family should have to go through this. No animal should be put in this situation.
