We have been taking our oldest pug here for close to a year, he has very sensitive skin and the team at Muddy Pup has always made sure to use the best shampoo for his skin and they always make sure he doesn't get cologne. These maybe minor details make all the difference and really shows how much Muddy Pup cares about not just making sure your pet looks the best but they make sure they will feel their best even after leaving the groomers. Our family just adopted a rescue pug and it was her first spa day with her big brother and the team at Muddy Pup was so caring and gentle with our rescue, our family can't thank you enough! I called the local store and was blessed because I got Glen. Glen is one of the best retail employees I have ever engaged with. He did all he could to resolve the issue. Ended up it was corporate who needed to intervene. So then, Glen gave me 10% off so my pups could get their food. BTW - Bella and Bandit (the pups) said to give Glen a raise. It went from $120 to ALMOST (all caps since I am being told $187 is not $200) $200. Luckily we have found a new groomer near us for $80! I loved this grooming service but not having a consistent fee schedule is too shady for us now. What made it worse was my neighbors dog weighs more than ours and they paid $140. I walked in genuinely interested in seeing the puppies and left almost in tears. What makes the experience even more unsettling is how I ended up there. I was stopped/approached near the intersection by a gentleman promoting Puppy Dreams from a vehicle with dark-tinted windows, a missing bumper, and a sign advertising the business and encouraging people to come look at the puppies. In hindsight, that should have been my first indication to pay closer attention. Once inside, one puppy in particular absolutely broke my heart. It was a beautiful, very young puppy with striking blue eyes, sitting alone and simply staring off into the distance. Its ears had recently been cropped and still had visible stitches in them. I asked about it and was told they purchased the puppy that way and were now selling it that way. Regardless of who performed the procedure, seeing such a young puppy sitting for sale in a retail store while its ears were still stitched and apparently healing was extremely disturbing to me. If someone purchases a dog and later chooses a cosmetic procedure under appropriate veterinary care, that's their decision. But selling a puppy that has already undergone that procedure and is apparently still healing from it is something I personally cannot support. The store also felt noticeably hot inside, which concerned me considering the puppies being kept there. I eventually had to leave because I was becoming emotional looking at these animals. A polished storefront, cute name, and promises of "health warranties" and "lifetime puppy training" don't erase what I personally witnessed. Please do your research before purchasing a puppy here. Ask exactly where the puppies come from. Ask for the breeder's information. Ask for veterinary records. Ask when and where procedures such as ear cropping were performed. And most importantly, walk in and pay attention to the puppies and their environment yourself. I know what I saw was enough for me to turn around, leave, and decide that I would not give this business my money.
