If she smiled, I fear her face might crack. Clearly she's never had any customer care training, but could definitely do with taking a course. It's a shame that basic manners are missing from this Post Office, where customer care is definitely not on the menu.

They always seem to be having a great time and I just don't know how they ever get any work done! They do all the obvious Post Office services: stamps, letters, parcels, giros, passports etc, plus they have a lovely little gift shop with genuinely nice bits of jewellery, ornaments, fancy bags etc, plus all the usual cards and wrapping paper. The only bad thing is that because it is a small shop, and it has a lot of stock, sometimes the queue for tha actual post office counter can make it a bit crowded and sweaty. However, that does not detract from a really lovely community type of place.

Dont go at peak times though, you wont get out the door any time soon as the queues are long and knowing your luck the person in front is posting numerous parcels around the world or has not filled in a form correctly for their car tax. It is located inside RS Mccoll and has all the parcel items you need - envelopes, padded envelopes of various sizes, packing tape etc. The shop has a card section, and as expected sweets and magazines, lottery etc.

If I was to become a famous singer and do a…read morecover version of this song I would change the lyrics to "what a difference good customer service made." Good customer service can put a spring in the step of an otherwise drab day. Nothing cheers you up like being faced with a complete stranger who goes over and above their job requirements to be kind and helpful, simply because they want to make your day that bit easier. I was on the receiving end of such service last week, when I visited the post office on St Vincent Street to send a hideously stressful parcel of very important documents halfway across the world by parcel force priority. I was served by a man called Colin who was helpful and knowledgeable way beyond the call of duty, even though it was near closing time on a Friday. He made the situation much less stressful as a result. So Colin, I wish to thank you for taking pride in your job. Not being able to post my parcel, or doing it incorrectly, would have resulted in disastrous consequences. You can go to bed at night knowing you really have made a difference.
