This non profit business services all of North Ga and the local communities. Everything you'll see and find here are in great condition, from name brand clothing to working and tested appliances and electronics. But more importantly and most amazing, is what the PIER Foundation does! The PIER Foundation gives job opportunities and provides job training for adults with disabilities. This sometimes forgotten people of our world are given the ability to work and earn a living by doing what they can at the store! More then half of the employees are adults with disabilities that refuse to let the minor setback of a medical condition hold them back from living the best life possible. I cannot think of a better place to give, donate or support then The PIER Foundation Thrift Store.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jo, the owner, and she explained that they have over 50 vendors all with their own booths with unique stuff! Yes...over 50 small businesses under one roof. Some notables were homemade cookies, nuts, honey, and beef tallow! There are homemade knitted items, custom T-shirts, (yes, I love Cumming GA included) lots of vintage home decor, furniture, jewelry, toys, and custom wreaths. After walking around the store with a handful, I was surprised how inexpensive my final total was. This place has it all. I've been suspecting for a while that this store removes items that would be 99 cents from the…read moresales floor on Monday, stashing them in the back until afterwards (because that color tag always disappears rather dramatically right before the sale day). On Friday, I was in the store.. they had over a HUNDRED dvds that were set to be 99 cents today. I went back today and they were ALL gone. I seriously doubt someone bought every single dvd in that color in 2 days. I imagine these are sitting in a cart in the back and will reappear magically later this week. This store should be investigated by its corporate office for scamming its customers with deceptive practices like this. This will be my last 99-cent-day at this store.
