We had to make a last minute booking for our new puppy. We live in Suffolk, my fiancee's parents are in Louth and my parents are in Hull. We are heading to a family wedding in Hull next week and wanted a kennel for one night but all the local kennels were full.
We decided we could go via my fiancee's parents and book our puppy in Barfield for 3 nights.
Long story short my beloved parents family dog Tess had to be put down. My mum and dad said we should bring our puppy and she could have the kennel space that Tess would have had and it would only be for 1 night. I called barfields straight away to cancel our booking. Honesty is not always the best policy it would seem as we could have lied about why we cancelled but chose to tell the truth. Barfield were totally unsympathetic and threatened to charge us anyway and banned us from bringing our puppy again. My fiancee had to take the phone from me as I was so upset over the loss of my dog and to then be spoken to in such a way was astounding. She said to her "why are you further upsetting my fiance, his dog has just died" and the Barfield lady's response was "he has upset me. You want to take your dog to another kennel." We are discusted at how they dealt with us and they caused unnessecary further upset.
We would have used them in future when visiting Louth but not now.
