The cheese was a bit strange (sort of like a cross between melted cheddar and canned nacho cheese...I can usually place cheese pretty well, but I don't have a better description for this), and I didn't try the sour cream, but the bbq sauce selection was great! Went to the summer concert at the amphitheater where this food trailer is located. Ordered the pork BBQ nachos. Nachos were ok but price was ridiculous....by the time they added tax and "service charge" one order of nachos was $16. Husband had the brisket sandwich and said that it was better than the pork. I read all the great reviews and decided to try it. It was a Monday night and wasn't busy at all. The woman who took our orders was not very helpful at all. We ordered two pulled pork platters, both with baked beans, one with coleslaw and one little salad. None of the food was edible. Both my husband and I were very disappointed. Everyone had saved about how good all the barbeque sauce were an w didn't feel any of them were very good. Not only that the tables and chairs were unstable and as I sat down with my little cups of sauce the table tipped and the cup of sauce fell into my lap and all over my clothing. The woman at the counter could see what happened and she didn't offer to help of anything. I got napkins and wiped both table an myself full as good as I could. My fingers remained sticky until I was back in my car. My shirt is ruined as well as my shorts. Then we were charged an extra 10% for a tip. I don't mind paying servers and usually pay 20% or more depending on the service. Both of our children have worked as servers in college. But there was no service at Barefoot Barbeque, we ordered at window, picked up plastic ware and sauces, and again picked up our food. Not only that we ordered water to drink and were charged .89 cents for each water. The whole experience was horrible. So if you are a true barbeque lover and have enjoyed some of the best at festivals in places like Owensboro, Nashville, Menphis, and Louisville then don't go to Barefoot. This is a cute joint right outside the main center of the seaside community near Destin. Its a large two trailor stand with seating outside and gas heaters that can be used at night when it is chilly located just infront of the main drive. The menu is classic BBQ with meat choices including the classics of chicken, pulled pork, brisket and ribs. To start, we ordered some cold beers and pulled pork nachos. MMMMM, the nachos were delicious. Creamy cheese blending the classic nacho flavors with the sweet and savory pulled pork. We all enjoyed them and would definitely order them again. For the main courses, I got their combo platter which came with my choice of two meats, two sides and toast. I got the pulled pork brisket. My parents got the ribs and my sister the pulled pork. They have a good range of sides from mac'n cheese, to baked beans, slaw, corn, spinach salad, greens, and a few others. I tried their mac'n cheese and beans. When my plate was ready and name called, the gentlemen asked me which sauces I wanted and having never been there, of course, I asled to try all 4 of their signiture sauces: a mustard base, vinigar accented, spicy and traditionally sweet bbq sauces. To start, none of the sauces were blow your socks off good. I enjoyed a combination of the traditional sweet and the spicy onces. The Mustard based one tasted too much like yellow french's mustard and the vinigar one just tasted like vinigar without enough of the other flavors. My pulled pork and brisket were served in individualized paper cups and both had a good smoke flavor to them however I found them both to be a little dry but definitely edible with a good slathering of the sauces. The mac'n cheese were shells and delicious and the baked beans were by far the best of the the platter with good smoked pepper flavor mixed with bbq'd meat and beans, mmmm. My sister who had the pulled pork, mac'n cheese and corn on the cob had a similar take on her food. My parents got the rib platter, and we all tried the ribs and were greatly dissappointed. The ribs were of the dry rub variety which wasn't the problem. The rub flavor was ok at best, but the real problem was the ribs were tough!!!!, It was like eating beef jerky. Sadly this ruined their dinner experience which had started so well with the cold beers and good nachos. Overall I say this place has good potential. The outdoor seating is fun, the sides are really good and there is good smoke flavor in the meats but the bbq itself and the sauces needs work. 3 stars. read more

Little Food truck right by the beach. All Meat was tender with great smokey flavor. Meat was a little dry could have used a little more BBQ sauce. Mac and cheese was tasty. Food trucks are always fun and this one is no exception. Stopped for lunch and three of us shared park bbq sliders and an order of BBQ nachos. Got the bucket of ribs (half rack $14) by staff recommendation and was not delighted. They were served as a 'basket of ribs" and we're just warm. I proceeded to eat them and they were -bland and without that smokey mojo like you would expect from a good bbq place. I was hungry enough to finish them but I regretted it afterwards - now I'm just hoping I don't get sick. In hindsight, there was not a line and appears that this place survives on new customers (like me) that are lured in by the awesome food truck atmosphere in this area. I would have just given 1star but I granted the second star for the sauce. I really could not have finished them with out the sauce. read more

Great food, but beware the hour long wait AFTER ordering your food... At a food truck. I gave it 3 stars because the food is really good, but the hour long wait put a BIG damper on the experience. I have no idea how this place gets any good reviews. Maybe nobody has ever had BBQ from anywhere else before? That is my only guess. If I could give it 0 stars then I would. I'll start with the brisket and pulled pork that I had. Both had zero of the usual smoke flavor nor was there a smoke ring anywhere to be found so I question whether it was actually smoked or not. Aside from that, both were far from tender. They need to leave it in whatever freezer it came out of in my opinion. The price is extremely expensive for the portion you receive and the added 10% gratuity (even for two people) is an outrage by itself. I don't mind to pay a premium for good BBQ, especially since you're at the beach, but this is worse than something you get from a chain restaurant. Now to the sauces... I'm not sure if the owners or employees actually try the sauces or not but they are awful. I ate my brisket and pork without sauce because it somehow managed to make the meat taste worse which is pretty remarkable. I think the "hot" sauce was just a BBQ sauce they bought at the grocery store and poured an entire gallon of Tabasco sauce in because that's all that I could taste. I'm not sure what they did to the "original" but it had a bad flavor all around. I can't quite pinpoint what they put in it but it was just bad. I'm really fortunate I didn't smother my meats in any of the sauces as soon as I got it because they would have been a mistake. Now to the sides.. Between my girlfriend and I we had four different sides. I had the potato salad, corn on the cob and she had the mac n' cheese and baked beans. I ate the entire piece of corn on the cob because that is something hard to mess up but I'm sure this place could probably do it. Aside from that, each of the other sides only had about two or three bites taken out of them because they were so bad. The potato salad had a good presentation but then I tasted it and I'm pretty sure they must have put an entire shaker full of pepper in my one serving because that's all that I could taste. Thinking that maybe it was just on the surface, I dug down a little deeper for a bite but it was the same. Again...does anyone taste this stuff before they serve it? I'm all for pepper to spice things up but this place needs to learn moderation with it. As with the potato salad, the mac n' cheese looked good at presentation but then you try a bite and are immediately disappointed. We were there during early dinner hours but this stuff tasted like it had been sitting in that trailer for a couple of days before they served it. If you can get past that taste, there was nothing additional to taste. It was very bland and had nothing about it that made it unique. What a shame. I'm not a fan of beans so I didn't try them but they looked very watered down and my girlfriend told me they also tasted old and were very bland. So out of the sides, they didn't screw up corn on the cob. Congrats? Reading other reviews that people have written about this place, it seems like the nachos are the only decent thing which shouldn't be a trademark item for a BBQ place. Maybe with the nachos they are able to pile on cheese and other toppings to mask the terrible flavor of their BBQ. I wasn't staying in Seaside so I'm not entirely sure about the area, but from what I understand it is an "upper class" type of place so Barefoot BBQ must thrive on the rich and oblivious to funnel money to them for their sub-par food. Maybe we were there on an off-day or something but even if we were then I am not interested in going back to try it again because they are robbing you with the automatic 10% gratuity. Maybe they know people will wise up eventually and stop coming there to eat so they are trying to get rich while they can. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If I had to do it over again I would have went to the trailer next to it and got some grilled cheese. I can imagine it would have been light years ahead of Barefoot BBQ in taste and value. read more

Ok, it's a food truck style but with a dash of awesome. The pulled pork is good but can be a little greasy. The sliders are huge so beware. I recommend the nachos with chicken or pork (more than enough for two people). The service is always great and the music is top notch (kudos to the DJ and to whoever writes all of the "barefoot bbq" themed songs). Sauces are ok, nothing to write home about. Definitely worth a stop for the Smoked Tuna Dip and one of their sandwiches. They are served on Texas Toast, and the portions are worth the expense. The staff is friendly, and you shouldn't have much of a wait. I'm definitely biased and love GREAT bbq.
