I did an AI search and Lashes by Shigeru came up and I saw they offered the Japanese hybrid "airlashes" which sounded appealing. The lashes back in the day always felt heavy. I made the appointment by text and got a prompt response. They requested some pictures of the look I wanted. Parking is available underground with a code, as well as on the street. The space is clean and bright. I had a brief consultation with Shigeru, so he could get a better idea of what I wanted. I appreciated the additional clarifying questions. The application process was relaxing, with soothing music playing in the background. I caught myself almost snoring, it was so relaxing, lol. Shigeru was meticulous, as I could tell by how he would adjust my lashes. The finished look was just what I wanted - make my eyes look bigger, like I was wearing mascara, but not full glam and overdone. And the best was that I couldn't even feel the lashes - they were so light. Highly recommend Shigeru and the hybrid lashes!

I am really confused by all the positive reviews for Chou Chou. I relied on the reviews of the Yelp…read morecommunity, which brought me to Chou Chou, but I left with lashes I did not want. It was my first time ever getting eyelash extensions, so I was really looking forward to getting them done. Getting an appointment with her, as well as meeting her in person was very pleasant. She has a little room in her home where she does all appointments. Oh, she also has four little pups that are in the room, too. So if you're allergic to dogs/don't like dogs, FYI. I told Chou Chou that I wanted something natural. I'm Asian so I can't have lashes that scream I HAVE EYELASH EXTENSIONS! She spent about an hour and a half on my lashes. Trusting her to do her thing, I just laid there until the whole process was over. When she handed me the mirror, I was shocked. Of course I internalized my reaction, but I was NOT expecting what I saw. It was the opposite of natural, and the way she applied the glue made it look like I had eyeliner on. I told her they looked really dramatic, but maybe I reacted so strongly because 1) I had never had extensions before and 2) I just needed to adjust to them. I paid $75 as a first time client with a $20 discount. As I got home and stared in the mirror, I knew it wasn't what I wanted. I was desperate to get them off, so I tried using any type of oil to get them off my lids. Of course none of that stuff works. Anyway, I was able to get a hold of Charity (http://www.yelp.com/biz/master-lash-by-charity-santa-monica-2?hrid=r5MbzyIEVnplz8AYgFyB-w) at the last second to help me remove my lashes. Her pricing is VERY reasonable compared to other salon's I've researched in LA and the quality of her work is superb. For appointments, It's easy to schedule a time and date through text. I like to go around every 2 months after the lashes completely fall straight. To keep them healthy, I just lash serum nightly and have absolutely no damage from the perm. Appointment goes for about an hour long, sometimes a little over depending on how long your lashes need to sit with the chemical for. It's a painless and easy process. For parking, there is free parking all day (with her receipt that you can show the parking guy) in the small plaza where her salon is located on the 3rd floor. You'll see Daiso when you enter the lot. There's also street parking around which can be packed. Another alternative is parking down the e next block next to Marshalls, Sushi Stop, Matcha Village which is free with no validation needed. RIDICULOUS please don't bother coming here waste of money TO YOUR REPLY: In the past I have gotten classic lashes applied to my lashes and the longest it's taken my tech was 1hour and 30 minutes. My lashes looked amazing which made a huge difference in my eyes. And they lasted 2-3 weeks. Did you not read where I wrote I wanted to try a place closer to home. Anyhow, Your tech did not tell me anything about the 3 day follow up. And excuse me for having a busy life hence took me a few days to review this business. Regardless your products are poor and cheap. My review is honest and I don't think anyone should throw their money away. 170 is a lot for a service that didn't even last a week. Do better get quality glue or lashes idk but def not ever coming here again nor do I recommend this business To your second response: I never noted that I rub or pull my lashes I do not know what you are talking about. My old tech that is 30 miles from me would apply each lash one by one and they lasted for 3 weeks and made a HuGE difference on how my eyes looked. So your organization is not at bat with my consumers expect. Why can't you take this review as an opportunity to improve your business instead of making up lies. GROW UP! I should dispute the charges. Will look into it. Bye
