I was told the doctor would not see my child since I had a vaccine exemption for my child (my…read morechild was vaccine injured and doctor was told). This is because, we now know, the doctors are all paid more if they have 100% compliance for vaccinations for all their patients. Recently at a congressional hearing we found out that pediatricians are being paid by the HMO insurance companies for vaccinating kids. Payment is $200-$600 per child. Many pediatricians making $1 million a year just for vaccinating kids. Practices must keep a certain percentage of patients at 100% vaccination rate to qualify for the payments. Pediatricians stop seeing kids as patients whose parents refuse vaccinations. This is not about health. It's about doctors and insurance companies making millions and billions per year each. It was crushing. My child's former pediatrician who assisted with the getting the exemption due to what he termed 'adverse reaction' and the exemption was granted, retired and moved out of state. He even called them but they would not honor his calling to talk to the new prospective doctor. They are monsters there.

We also got great recommendations about their other doctors, too. I like that Dr. Shilpa is relatable (she seems to be around our age with a young kiddo as well) and she takes time to answer all of my questions (I come almost every time with a list of questions on my phone). She is patient in sharing her expertise and has a kind way of interacting with my child. Now after the birth of our second baby, Dr. Shilpa sees both kiddos. I like that the exchange is very accessible and easy to use. We've called many times during off hours to reach a nurse from Children's hospital. They'll either answer our questions immediately or they'll contact the on call pediatrician and then call us back. It's pretty straightforward to schedule a sick visit the same day, though if you call right at 8:30 when their phone lines open, you might have to wait on hold for a few minutes. The nurses and other staff are usually very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Southwest Pediatrics and especially Dr. Shilpa to anyone looking for a pediatrician in south city!

Original was deleted, but I kept my notes! So I'm posting this again! We were treated very poorly…read morein 2023, which is expected when you don't comply with the shot schedule. As a parent, I have a right to be concerned about the ingredients in shots. Read the black box label and research the ingredients list. Also, don't be fooled by the "it's such a tiny amount of" [insert ingredient]. All ingredients in shots are tiny amounts, including the metals, and thimerosal type of ingredients, which are used when two or more shots are combined. We were told that our child could not be seen at this facility because he didn't have the HEP B shot, which is contracted through needles and having intercourse, not by sitting in a waiting room. We were told he could get other kids sick in the waiting room, to which we replied that there should be no concern since they received their "protective" shots, right? Our son had to give a blood sample. They had one when he was born, and two at A-Z preferred hospital. I told them I did not want to have procedures done at their preferred hospital. I wanted to keep all documentation at the same hospital he was born. My request was simple and I did not want to have to get my child's data at multiple hospitals. They got angry with me about this because they couldn't find a place to fax the paperwork at my preferred hospital. Folks, it is the biggest hospital in the St Louis area. 1) how in the world can you not find a fax number to the pediatrics office at the largest hospital in the area?? 2) we were not informed that we could just take the paperwork into our hospital and make an appointment or be seen soon after. My husband got tired of the back and forth and caved in to a self proclaimed "professional" who proceeded to tell me that I "had" to do what they told me and that I HAD to listen to them because they were the "professionals". The tone and inflection of her voice infuriated me. How dare she tell me I "had" to go to their preferred hospital and that I couldn't question or make decisions for my own child's' benefit? I explained what happened to my baby's main hospital who asked for this pediatrics clinics' information. I'm sure they had a nice conversation. My baby 's tests came out fine. I never had a doubt he was fine. He hadn't received shots that are known to cause babies harm and it was apparent this office had turned a blind eye to the data. The fact that pediatrics offices make money off of unnecessary shots in an entirely different subject. My main concern was that these shots have ingredients that cause neurological concerns for the long term and have carcinogenic effects - gut and inflammation issues as well. As a mother I am allowed to question the shot schedule, which I'm sure you all know is NOT mandatory. The shot schedule is only mandatory for kids who are going to schools or go to day cares that are state funded. In addition, there are state exemptions you can use for your child to not receive shots - religious exemption. Please don't feel forced by pediatric offices, such as this one, that make it seem like it's the state law and you have to shoot your kid up with a bunch of chemicals as they growing. Their brains and little bodies are developing and these shots impede on children's progress. There are people fighting the fight for babies- children - trying to decrease the number of sick children via the ingredients in shots. Needless to say we searched for an office who listens to what parents want for their children. They ask questions about the ingredients in their shots, and try to use shots with the least amounts, of metals. They also separate the MMR vaccine and give them in three different months. (MMR has been looked at as a possible cause for autism. Studies have yet to be conducted on the combinations of which two ingredients are causing autism, nor which two plus the binder (possibly thimerosal).) Not only this, our office doesn't follow the timelines for which these shots should be given, because shots aren't mandatory! However, if you still want to give your child shots, this office offers a delayed schedule. Meaning that your child can receive the MMR vaccine at a later age since there is proof that the earlier you give your child the MMR vaccine, the greater the chances for neurological concerns, such as autism. Instead of a five minute drive, we drive almost an hour. We are very pleased with our new pediatric office and will not name them here simply because we don't want concerns between the two offices.
