Palomar has been built in April 2012 and when we came in we even had a discount because the…read morebuilding was almost empty. We were only 3 on our floor. Rent is not cheap considering you are outside the city. And there is not much to do around the building. So basically, get a car! Islington station is about 10 minutes away by foot and you have to walk through a gigantic parking lot. Not fun. Especially during winter. There is also the highway on the way home. All in all, the surroundings are bad. The suite however is nice. And you get dryer + washing machine and you can control the heat in your suite which is great since we haven't had that in our other appartment. Problem is, since you are close to the train + the subway you can hear it all the time. Litteraly. And that can get annoying if you don't use ear plugs like I do! My real problem has been to deal with the management because we had crazy neigbors. I guess they were students, they were 3 in a 2 bedrooms and they had a dog!!! The dog was constantly barking. I told the neigbors it was very annoying and it stopped BUT every time they were going away, they left the dog at home and the dog was crying/barking in the middle of the night!!! I had to call the Concert kind of 911 emergency phone number and there's nothing they could do. My neigbors also were incredibly noisy and were partying all the time. Since our bedroom was attached to their balcony (How silly is that!!!!) we could NOT sleep. I told them multiple times but they didn't care. They didn't even speak english so what do you want to do. I wrote several complaints to the management and they obviously didn't care. They said they would send them a note and if the noise was on an ongoing basis they would sue them. As if! We finally left and because we didn't want to pay for their silly maintenance cost (You need to repaint the walls, clean the carpets professionnaly for $150!!!) they sent a collection agency after us. We had no choice but pay $500!!! And I am obviously not the only one on Yelp who had a problem with them and their collection agency. I even saw a guy who litteraly sent $20 bills right at their face because they told him "if you don't pay we will sue you". They do that all the time. Never deal with them!

After six years at 65 Windermere, we finally packed up and moved earlier this year. There's plenty…read moreto miss about the apartment building and area, but as I've mentioned before, a few issues as well. First the positives in retrospect. The Swansea area is amazing for dog owners and families. There are parks galore, access to the water, numerous trails. It definitely doesn't feel like you're in a huge city. You have transit at your door step with the 77 bus, a 7 minute ride to Runnymede Station and the 501 streetcar being 3 minutes walking south. The apartments themselves have some great qualities. Walls are thick. Extremely thick. We never had issues with any noise, above, or from our neighbors on either side. Apartments have gigantic windows, and if you're facing west like we were, you have a lovely view of the trees across the street. There is an elevator in the building, and garbage chute on every floor for disposing of bags of trash. The chutes are definitely missed at the new place. On-site management was always super friendly and helpful. They actually care about the building because they live there. It seems many residents take that for granted. On the negative side of things. What makes the area very nice for some makes it terrible for others. You have few shopping options in the area, with a corner convenience store and a gas station, being your only options nearby. Likewise you'll have to make the trek up to Bloor St, or over to Runnymede, if you're looking for eats, or entertainment. The building has its fair share of issues as well. Fire alarms going off randomly in the middle of the night (about once per month) was the usual for a while. The elevator seems like it might not be aging so well. The laundry room is small (four washers, four dryers) and the dryers don't always do the job, even on a small load. When signing up with Greenwin, you'll be asked to sign a bunch of clauses that are not enforceable. A No Pet Clause, proof of rental insurance and the usual things that property management companies try to force you to agree with. Not a mark specifically against Greenwin, but they definitely get no points for being the typical project management company. Overall, I'd recommend the building to people that want to live near parks, or want a more quiet life. But with the rent increases over the years, I can't recommend it as a cheap option for those with lower incomes.

I've removed a couple of previous reviews because of threats of lawsuits from the property owner…read more The contents were 100% truthful, however reading up on the nature of defamation I want to be utterly careful because this woman can and will sue anyone as what seems like a recreational pasttime. So, the below comes entirely from my own personal experience, is my own personal opinion only and is posted only in the interest of helping others make an informed decision. I originally posted first after moving out, and only posted an updated review because the property owner unjustly had the first review moved to 'not recommended'. My only aim here is public interest - I wish that when we had met this person that we had listened to the feeling we had that she was trouble, so I hope I can encourage others to listen to their gut feeling about her. I will only speak about my direct experience. This woman was hostile and combative from the get go. My partner and I tried so hard for so long to accommodate her whims and paranoia but at a certain point, after dozens and dozens of emails and visits to our house, we needed to find a new place to live. We would come home to find her in our apartment 30 mins before a scheduled appointment. She was constantly in our lives, it was a constant issue. She threatened us with lawsuits multiple times. We are adults who look after where we live - we've never had an issue with landlords before or since. Her posts on this page are dishonest - you can see she has put multiple fake reviews, some under the same username as a 'renter' and as the 'landlord' It makes me upset that I've had to take down honest feedback, so I will leave with this. I do not recommend living in one of this person's properties. That is my personal opinion, based on my past experiences. Take it for what you will.
