Selecting a lawyer for a child custody case is never easy, and certainly not a situation we ever…read moreexpected to find ourselves in. You want the very best--so you research, read reviews, ask around--while also trying not to rush a decision despite the urgency of the matter. We were referred to Sam by a friend, and after meeting with several other attorneys, he stood out as the most natural fit. What we appreciated most about Sam was how down-to-earth he is. He immediately understood what we needed, brought real passion to our case, and was always honest with us throughout the process. Our case lasted just over a year--not due to anything on Sam's part, but simply because we followed every step the right way and had to trust the process and the court system. About four months of that timeline involved locating the defendant with the help of a private investigator so they could be served. Once we finally got into court, Sam showed up and showed out for us. That day reassured us that we had absolutely made the right choice in hiring him. His integrity in the courtroom was clear--he was respectful, punctual, and conducted himself with professionalism at every moment. Fast forward to last week: Sam called with an update. We were trembling on the other end of the line until he shared the words we had been hoping for--we won the case. It was the best news we could have received, especially right before the holidays. Truly the best Christmas gift we could ask for. If you're wondering whether Sam is the right attorney for you, please take our experience to heart. We cannot thank him enough for his hard work, time, and unwavering dedication.

I believe Camy is the only family law attorney in Central Florida who could have achieved the outcome we did, most attorneys in the area were simply not qualified or willing to take on a case this complicated. Camy was on top of everything from day one and addressed every curveball thrown at us with speed and efficiency, (and boy were there a lot of them). Camy is very honest and straightforward with her thoughts and opinions. Personally, I love that! I never found myself wondering what she meant when she said something. I tend to be blunt myself and appreciate direct communication. Camy can absolutely be aggressive in court when she needs to be however she's also very respectful and courteous to all parties involved in your cases. Camy works very hard for her clients and makes it a point not to engage in unethical or unprofessional behavior. Even when the opposing side is engaging in this type of behavior Camy maintains her integrity. Time and time again, the outcomes in the end were a good reflection of her professional behavior. This certainly doesn't go unnoticed by the judges or their assistants either. To say Camy is a hard worker is an understatement!! She is a machine!! Camy and her team always communicated with me regularly. Camy even worked my case from her mother's hospital bedside when it became necessary and it wasn't uncommon to see an email come through during the evening hours. That said, when there's nothing really happening (which happens a lot in the court system), Camy NEVER bombarded me with trivial things just to bill hours. If everything was quiet, then everything was quiet. This can be nerve wracking, however running up your bill with unnecessary questions and comments when there's no reason would be nerve wracking as well. Camy, associate attorney Leah, paralegals Gio and Shannon, and firm administrator Debbie are an incredible team of professionals who worked tirelessly for my family. They are absolutely the ONLY attorneys who could have done what they needed to do to protect innocent children from being placed in harm's way due to a biological connection. I highly recommend Camy and her team to anyone who needs a family law attorney or an attorney for a dependency case. I haven't had a need for representation in any of the other areas of law that the firm practices in, but I wouldn't hesitate to call them should the need arise. Camy doesn't take on cases in areas of the law that she isn't familiar with and if something happens to come up that she isn't familiar with, (as it did in my cases) she never hesitated to reach out to a colleague for assistance. That speaks volumes about her character to me. My cases certainly were not considered "normal" circumstances and this firm fought long and hard for my family until we were ALL safe. For our family, they are Superheroes!! I still think of these ladies often and my youngest still asks about them and misses them too! After going through something like we did with an amazing team of "Superheroes" standing beside us throuought the duration, there is a fondness in my heart almost like that of family that just can't be explained in words. Thank you Camy Wilcox and Associates for all you do!! The slogan on their website without a doubt sums it up "When you're going through your worst, we are at our Best"

When I realized my marriage was over, I immediately scheduled an appointment for a consultation and…read moreretained counsel. I selected a male attorney that was referred to me by a close friend, and oh my, what a mistake that was! When I hired said attorney in October, he failed to actually file my divorce with the court until January; three entire months after I had paid his retainer, in full!! (Anyone who has had the unfortunate fate of going through a divorce understands that when doing so, it's an extremely painful, and stressful process, and time is of the essence.) Said attorney provided every excuse under the sun as to why he was missing EVERY deadline that we had in place (and that was only a small portion of the issues that I had with him)! I won't do a full dive into his awful Paralegal, but I will say this, she was completely incompetent and helped to waste even more of my valuable time and money. I had finally come to the harsh realization that the time had arrived for me to part ways with the money that I had already invested in this guy and terminate said attorney. I'm not going to lie, without having a "Plan B", my level of panic and anxiety went into overdrive just knowing what I was up against. I remembered meeting Camy at an event not far after I had already started the process, and I also remembered the vibe that I got from her right out of the gate; it was a great one! So, I wasted no time, followed my instinct, and contacted her right away! I could not be more grateful that I made this decision as Camy, and the amazing team at her Firm literally saved my life!! Not only did she IMMEDIATELY get the ball rolling for my case, at last, I could finally breathe, sit back, stop stressing, and let the expertise of my highly knowledgeable and skilled attorney take the wheel and simply guide me towards the light!!!! This team is primarily made up of women (if not all), and they are quite the force to be reconned with! They were so amazing to work with and the line of communication was constant and always open!! Camy knows her S*** and does not back down when she knows what's right! I love her for this, as I truly needed a voice while mine had been placed on MUTE for WAY TO LONG!! Their level of compassion, combined with their high level of professionalism was so refreshing. I actually felt a certain level of pride in working with them during this awful time in my life. No longer did I have NO VOICE! No longer was I going to getting taken advantage of! They had my back and my best interest in mind the whole way through and I think that we all may have even teared up a little at the end when it was all over, as my case was quite the unique one. Camy and Associates, I cannot thank you enough for your stellar representation!! I pray to God that I NEVER have to go through anything like this again, but if I do, I will be contacting the, Schwam-Wilcox & Associates team, to get me through it!! I highly recommend this Firm and will refer them whenever I can!
