This business is only for women they quote me a child support payment for one child but it was for 2 when I have only 1 Never kept me in the loop said we would not talk financial at mediation but thats all that was discussed they do not have the child best interest only money and my lawyer never read my file because she said I needed to call and set up a doctors appointment I did 3 times and she didn't even know save your money this firm is too big and not hungry anymore. There are not enough stars available to rate the quality of service, expertise and respect I received from Attorney Atiya Clarke. Paralegal Laura Gaston,,, simply amazing, compassionate and very prompt. When I came to the Lawfirm of Dewtt, I was ready to quit. Reason being, from the time I started my divorce August 2023. From then to April 8, 2024, I had already gone through 2 attorney,, yes I said 2 attorneys and over $10,000 in attorney fees. I did not a have a complex case for divorce and no children involved. From April 13 2024 to June 12, 2024 Attorney Atiya Clarke with the assistance of Paralegal Laura Gaston had me in mediation and divorced settled. They did more for me in 2 months, than other 2 prior attorneys did in 8 months. That includes time going back correcting and or completing things my previous two attorneys didn't do. Atiya was completing required documents April 2024 that should have been done August 2023! My heart is filled with gratitude that words can not express. # your case may not be complex but an incompetent, non caring, unprofessional attorney will make your case complex# I thought obtaining a flat fee attorney would be efficient. That was my first mistake. If your case is contested you are going to deal with the other party not complying with Florida Law for divorce and doing things to prolong the divorce. My advice when you start flirting with thoughts of divorce, contact Attorney Atiya Clarke for a sound legal consultation. What may seem or sound sensibe to you, may not and probably is not the law in Florida. Divorce is stressful, unfair and can quickly diminish every essence of your total healh. Get Atiya to help you weather the storm of divorce. Atiya has high standards and will fight for you. There are nasty, dirty attorneys out there and you need the best representation possible. I DO NOT recommend this law firm at all. RE: personal service. I never met Mr. Dewitt, nor did he ever speak to me on the phone. What he did do was send me a refrigerator magnet, a thermo coffee cup and a cold drink cup ---- all with his face on them. Apparently I was supposed to use my gifts to advertise for him. The lawyer assigned to my case was very cordial. He chose the dollar amount I should sue for. I declined the 1st offer as it was about 1/10 of the asked for offer. I wanted to decline the 2nd offer as it was only a couple of thousand more. My lawyer said, " you might as well take it. I think it all they have". What?????? Whose side was he on? In addition to the lawyers fees that I expected, I was charged for every FAX, letter, photograph, copy, etc. that added up to a $1000.00 more deducted from my settlement. The small amount that I received went directly to the home care agency that I hired to care for me after the surgeries I needed as a result of my fall.
