Hi. This is Barcelona... ensured that our first visit to Barcelona was a memorable experience. This…read morecompany is top notch. From the moment we contacted Margo months before our trip until we returned home, every email, inquiry, question, etc. was responded to in a timely fashion with very useful tidbits of information about our trip. There is no way we could have been as organized or packed as much into our short stay in Barcelona as we did without Margo's assistance. We initially contacted Margo to arrange a bike tour, but she provided many additional recommendations for restaurants, sites and stops along the way, all of which turned out to be great. Her personalized approach to customizing our experience really set Hi. This is Barcelona... apart from other tour groups. The day after our arrival, we spent the entire day on a bike tour of Barcelona. We had told Margo that we wanted to see as much of Barcelona as possible in a day, and our expectations were far exceeded. Our local guide, Angel, was born and raised in Barcelona. Angel was delighted to share his knowledge of and passion for Barcelona in a way that made us feel like locals. We made our way along the port area, up Montjuic, crossed the city towards La Sagrada Familia, then headed towards the Olympic Village and back along the coastal beaches. Throughout our voyage, Angel deftly guided us through the city streets as he pointed out historic landmarks, various neighborhoods and their features, architectural influences and many other significant tidbits of information that would have otherwise gone totally unnoticed and unappreciated without him. Even after the tour was over, Angel accompanied us back to our hotel and gave us recommendations for our continued adventure up the Catalan coast. His recommendations led to some the most memorable experiences of our trip. If you want to truly feel like a VIP in Barcelona, then Hi. This is Barcelona... is for you!!

This is my second trip to Barcelona and I knew after my first experience touring with this them I would be in great hands. They did not disappoint. My parents and I loved our time with Zaida and Silvia who were incredibly knowledgeable and took great care getting us to so many of the city's beautiful sites, including introducing us to restaurants off the beaten path. We were treated like family. I cannot say enough great things about Hi. This is Barcelona Dont' look any further...Book with them!!!!!!IF

Taxis aren't very common in Barcelona and while we did use the subway system a lot, Barcelona Bus Turístic was our main source for traveling around, which was our main reason for using this company, especially because our hotel was one of the stops along the way, which was fantastic. Barcelona Bus Turístic was typically on time to each stop. The drivers were safe and the staff were very kind. There was an instance where we were in line for a very long time and they cancelled a line which made things worrisome on how to get back to the hotel but it all worked out (our hotel was on a very steep mile+ incline). We loved the option to be able to listen to automated tour guide and learn about the city during the drive. The sound quality was decent and we were able to hear clearly. Make sure you wear sunscreen if sitting on the top deck and enjoy the scenery!

He was talking loudly the entire time, making it impossible to hear the tour commentary. Phone Issue since we landed in Barcelona no connection we booked this tour on our way to Miami after we left US problems Viator didn't want to hear it after our phone worked the day after tour. 2. When the confirmation came in, it looked like the same tour name, Gothic, but when I checked in for the 9am tour, it was clarified that the 3pm tour would be different, Gaudi Modernism. Reservations online were quick and easy. It costs 3 euro to hold a spot. I gladly paid the 6 euro for both. I took the 9am Gothic Tour on a Monday. So many people booked they called an extra guide. Many showed up without a reservation. There were three guides and we broke into three large groups. Juliana was great. She was little and didn't have an umbrella; we very temporarily lost her twice! But her knowledge and enthusiasm more than made up for it! She was also very personable. I highly recommend her! Natalia gave the Gaudi tour at 3pm. She was also extremely knowledgeable and patient; our tour involved getting the group on and off a metro to Familia Sagada. Would welcome her as a tour guide again. As per the custom, you decide the cost at the end. They took my dollars and euros. I highly recommend these tours!!!!

I can't cosign that as it was just like the ones rollin' around NYC, Chicago, Vegas and LA. This is a hop on and hop off tour that goes to a lot of the hot tourist spots in town. Upon boarding (which was very confusing and a bit of a mess), Staff wasn't happy to see us, just getting the job done and even a bit crabby the entire time. The pickup was very confusing because they were not operating all stops for some reason. Perhaps for this same reason, the bus was overcrowded with incredibly long lines at stops to get back on - sometimes having to wait for several buses to come & go in order for your turn to board to come. On a positive note, their headsets with commentary come with 15 language options so that was cool, but one time my seat had a broken audio jack, womp womp. They advertise free WiFi which worked about a third of the time I was on the bus. I definitely would not recommend the buses with Barcelona City Tour or use them myself when I'm back in Barcelona.

Oh, and then the FOOD ! we were taken to 3 spots I never would have found for a great cross-section of Spanish at first bar (Chorizo sausage, Bull's tail done PERFECTLY with the richest sauce, rich bread & potatoes and a nice vermouth). Next was a Catalonian restaurant for a their special take on Paella rice, "Pisto" of eggplant, croquettas,etc.). Wine pairing was terrific And finally a dessert spectacular stop in the Jewish Qtr of custard/Flan, cake and ice cream selection. A local "cava" sparkling Catalan wine and coffee offered. In summary we had a very mixed, small relaxed group of 6 (two from NYC, 2 from Holland, 1 from Seattle, 1 from California & 1 from Cadiz Spain) who were all open to new tastes & experiences that bonded very well this pleasant evening !!! HIGHLY recommend this tour....but do it ASAP upon arrival in Barcelona, as Maribel emails all guests a follow-up list of local favorite restaurants, bars and shops that will be IN-valuable the remainder if your stay. Unfortunately we ended our trip with her...and now have to return to try as many places on her list as possible !

We ended up going to visit twice this trip, at night. Last year, I went early in the morning. I suggest going either early in the morning or around sunset. During the day, it gets pretty crowded and very hot. This park was originally intended to become a luxury garden city with 60 houses, however, only two houses ended up being completed. Parc Güell is still my favorite works designed by Antoni Gaudi. I recommend buying tickets ahead of time but the tickets are more readily available to purchase than Sagrada Família. I was able to buy tickets for our second visit the night before, without issues. Transportation: I booked a ride via Cabify rideshare and it drops off right by the entrance of Carretera de la Carmel (east side). I highly recommend leaving the park from this side too; easiest to call a cab, as other exits you have to walk down a bit due to car restricted access.

Fuggedaboudit! ...and they promised to share their recipe for their mojito ice cream. JUST WAIT. You'll love it! Photos to follow..." That's how I posted to FB upon getting home from our experience at Barcelona Slow Travel. I was eager to share that to give a sense of enthusiasm that I had for that evening! Our hosts, Christina and Guillermo, were warm, friendly, funny and eager to please. While some of the treats on their menu were not a surprise (olive plate, gherkins and pickled garlic, and gazpacho) the rest of the evening's menu was entirely dependent on what Guillermo could find FRESH at the market that morning. ...and FRESH made all the difference. Their space is intimate and inviting. After getting to know each other for a bit, each of the guests were seated around a large butcher block table and given a cutting board and a sharp knife, along with a task - from zesting limes to veining garlic to prepping mushrooms, mussels, peppers and the rest, they put us to work! Guillermo ensured that each guest was performing their task just right, while giving us the background of the dishes we were preparing, making small talk and generally making everyone feel "at home." Frankly, the next several hours passed by in a blur. No, it wasn't the wine (okay, maybe just a little bit) but it was the pleasure of the company, the work involved, and the gastronomy! The evening was a resounding SUCCESS. I would not hesitate to return there. (In fact, one of our group was there for her second time!)
