We pull up next to a little place in town that look like someone's home decorated for Halloween. It is quite charming. The little stone fence around the place with an iron gate is so nice. With a large shade tree up front and a large porch one could see themselves hanging out there a while. We walk in to a beautiful stout staircase embellished with a wonderful witch's hat very appropriate for the upcoming holiday. The downstairs rooms are filled with charming dinette sets with plenty of room for a large crowd. The character of the home still shows in the home decor with stately windows trimmed in thick dark wood but covered in dainty lace curtains. In the back, or side door is the counter and kitchen with bathrooms. Carefully wrapped generous sized goodies of Krispie and brownie treats adorned around the register with the refrigerator case packed with containers full of cake of all pleasures. Lunch is served Monday thru Friday from 11am-2pm and Desserts from 2pm-4pm. Leaving catering for the weekends. Hoping this little place does so well they must be open more hours to fit us all in! Menu combo for the day was soup and sandwich with choices of taco soup or potato soup. We had heard such rave reviews about the taco we all got a bowl. Sandwich choices were chicken salad, club, BLT, pimento or grilled chicken. I went for the club. Peering into the cold case like a child I could not decide my sweet piece of cake to indulge on. I narrowed down and got coconut creme and man it did not disappoint!! Pepsi soda fountain drinks are offered with tea options: Southern Sweet or Northern Unsweet. So Cute We found a table for our group and settled in. The taco soup really hit the spot. It gave a "chili" warming feel with new notes of flavor to not bore. My club was fresh, loaded with meat with a slight leave behind flavor of tangy Miracle Whip that is always pleasing. Everyone else really enjoyed their options as well. I could not wait to dig into the coconut creme having to have a bite less than half way through my meal. The sweet, moist, cake with the delightful creme were divine! It was like dancing on my taste buds. I have not had a coconut cake like that since the Easter's of my childhood when Grandma made her yearly coconut cakes that we all fought over. One of my companions detesting coconut intrigued with my reaction agreed to try and declared she loved it! We were very satisfied after our meal, our great company of each other in such a pleasant place. Will return every time I am here for lunchtime ... or dessert!

We especially enjoyed good, hot coffee in the mornings. The environment, though, was not as shown in the photos. The house is extremely cluttered and somewhat strange, with collections of items displayed virtually everywhere. The furnishings are a bit shabby, but generally clean. Breakfast was sub-par. Fruit was good, but pancakes and pre-fab waffles, unappetizing sausage, and some kind of baked oats mush was just not appealing. The owners are very nice and accommodating, but we would not choose to stay here again. It is the closest to the cave, though, so worth considering for that.

When we pulled up, the owner was on the porch welcoming us into their home. The dinner was finishing on the stove, and the house smelled wonderful. The owners were very welcoming; I felt more like a family member who needed somewhere to sleep while in town than a guest. We chose the most significant room with the best bathroom ever. The owners had a mini-fridge in the place with complimentary drinks. They had wine for purchase, but we had brought our own. I like how the owners didn't mind us bringing our own. They have a beautiful fire pit in the back of the house. The owners offered to light one for us, but we were just too tired to enjoy it. We did, however, appreciate the bed; it was the most beautiful bed I have ever slept in. The linens were like what a penthouse suite would have. It was incredible after a long drive. We had forgotten everything at home, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. I had no razor, and I was not looking forward to sleeping without brushing and shaving. However, to my great surprise, ALL THOSE THINGS WERE THERE! I was so shocked and relieved. The next morning we got a knock on the door for breakfast. The most fantastic meal was on the table from the freshly cut strawberries to the homemade omelet. I felt again like a family member coming to visit. We walked around the property, and it was beautiful! Every one of the birdhouses had baby birds in them. The porch sits among a picturesque front garden. The little details all around show a lot of love is invested there. We had to leave that morning, and I felt like again, my family was sad. I had to go and want us to come back. The owner stood in the window as we drove off. I will be back to bed and breakfast. My boyfriend and I after being introduced to B&Bs with such a positive experience have decided to not stay in chains ever again. I know why this is a 5 star place and will stay that

Each morning a homemade breakfast was made with such love fresh ground clean coffee, waffles, pancakes, fresh local eggs and delicious sausage and bacon. They make the best sausage gravy! Before we went to our bedroom each night Theresa made some kind of delicious cake from scratch...my favorite was the strawberry. Our bed was a four poster with attached bathroom. Softest sheets ever. Loved Netflix binging and hen walking up to smell of bacon and coffee. We will never forget this stay as long as we live. These owners care so much for their guests and truly invite you into their home :) forever grateful Padgett family!

They are inexpensive all inclusive and they are simply that good . If I could write a five page essay review for this rustic chic The Barn at Southern Grace I would do so. I consider myself a bed-and-breakfast aficionado and have spent decades staying in places all over the world. We are 2 busy executives and wanted a beautiful wedding with little involvement. From perfect food (David is amazing) and decorations to MY taste, this venue and staff does not disappoint. My fiancé and I could have picked any location, anywhere around the world to have our private and professionally executed wedding. We chose The Barn at Southern Grace. We simply have no regrets. We choose to rent the entire house as well but you don't have to do that. Renting the B&B for our family and friends from out of town provided a much more intimate event for us and allowed us use of the entire place with zero interference or interruption. It was like being in our own large fancy house. From the professionalism of the staff, the amazing cooked to order- personal choice- breakfasts to the personalization of everything you could think of that a bride might need, they accommodated and went over the top. There were many changes. They accommodated. From our wedding doubling in size of attendees, to the bridal party forgetting that they needed to leave one car at the house and the owner of this B&B driving me to my hair appointment the day of my wedding-the personal service is top notch. My parents couldn't be there. Theresa doubled as my mom and stayed with us to make sure that every single detail was perfect. We added extra people for breakfast; no problem. We changed the menu at the last moment; no problem. The use of the house that goes with this place is not required but it absolutely made a difference. David and his excerpt cooking are a quiet unsung accolade for this venue. The Barn at Southern Grace is one of the sweetest, coolest places to have a wedding-and it's recognized internationally. If you're looking for a venue you need to stop by and give Theresa and David some of your time. The staff is incredibly responsive to your needs. The package includes food, decorations, photography, the use of the venue, and anything else you need. When I asked for more photography they sent another professional photographer and the pictures are simply stunning. I happen to have a thing for llamas, and we went outside and I was able to feed them and our wedding pictures include them. If you're looking for a special day professional execution with a personal touch this is your location. If I'd have known it could be this easy I'd have done this years ago.
