Hmmmm. It felt like some of the produce was bought in bulk, divided, and resold... Not grown by the sellers. I puchased pea pods without tasting, they were awful. Put in stir fry, then tossed them all. I feel like it's the "off season" so maybe this market is better other times of the year. Staff was very nice. Excellent produce stand! Prices are crazy awesome and all produce looked way better than what I've seen at chains like Publix and Target. They carry a large variety of fruits, veggies, and refrigerated herbs. You'll find cheeses, eggs, potted herbs and some local goods like Florida-made salsas, dressings, and juices. They try to have a variety of goods and carry a lot more specific produce that's in season. We got a bushel of strawberries ($4) , basket of red potatoes ($3), yellow onion ($1), three roma tomatoes ($1), and one ginseng root ($1). $10 for all this, prices you couldn't beat at big groceries nowadays. First time visiting this stop after driving by a few times, I'll definitely be back! read more

We have passed Barbour's several times but never went in. I needed some produce so we decided to stop.The prices were very reasonable. All the produce was fresh. They spray them with water to keep them cold and fresh. They had good deals on asparagus and cucumbers to name a couple of things. I got a lot of things for a lot less than I would have spent at Publix or Walmart. The help was very helpful and friendly. We definitely will stop next time we are in the area. While I was visiting great friends I was driving down North East Indian River Drive in Jensen Beach, FL and found Barbour's Produce. This great little outdoor farmers' market and fruit stand is apparently well-known to the locals. There's a nice selection of fruit and vegetables along with bread, fruits, jams, Florida citrus, and even flowers. I made several trips here because I found some AMAZING Florida corn in January, no less, and of course some splendid pineapple. After all, Jensen Beach was THE pineapple capital of the world, yes it was delish too. Barbour's has been operating at this site same since 1993. They've got a lot of varieties of fruits and vegetables, depending on the season, year-round. The colors are so vibrant because the produce is genuinely fresh from your own garden. The produce is actually pretty cheap, compared to the big stores, but not necessarily from the local area. The Florida corn was 5 for a buck, seriously cheap and delicious. Because Barbour's is so popular, they had to enlarge the parking area over the years but parking is a bit of a problem. Enter and exit the busy property with care as you enter Indian River Drive. Bottom line: This farm market stop is most definitely recommended if you are visiting the area or lucky enough to live close by the area! I have no idea what some of these bad reviews are talking about. No problem with parking whatsoever. No bugs whatsoever. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. The produce so far has been pretty tasty. It's a great little outdoor market. I just bought a week worth of vegetables and fruits which would normally cost between 25-27 at Publix. My total was 13. Great produce stand. Lots of good deals you won't find at the supermarkets with lots of variety. Parking can be challenging as its right off of Indian River Drive, especially during busy times. They have fresh squeezed OJ and the herbs are in the coolers. Just ask for what you want. Tip: bring cash as they don't take any cards. read more

Beautiful colors, fresh aroma of their produce, great service and phenomenal prices. 10 grapefruits for only $1 and they tasted so good, most of them were sweet and juicy. Their lettuce was crunchy and they had so many different types of it, i got two. The tomatoes; to die for. Beautiful red and scrumptious. Went to Barbour's on a Sunday afternoon. Took a little while due to heavy traffic but well worth the time spent in the car. They have a nice variety of fruits and vegetables. Picked up some strawberries that are delicious and the melon is sweet and ripe. Also picked up freshly squeezed orange juice, can't beat it for flavor and price. A grapefruit as big as my head for 50 cents? Fresh-squeezed OJ for the same price as plain-ol'-regular OJ in NYC? Hand-made jams & jellies for $2 or $3? Yes, please! (Oh, and if you don't want the grapefruit that's as big as your head, you can get the regular-sized ones for 10 cents each. Really.) This cute fruit stand has a great selection of fresh produce at great prices. I've been here twice, and if I could transport it to anywhere near where I live, I'd buy everything here. I've shopped at Barbour's old location infrequently because I wasn't always happy with their fruit. Ever since the move to their new location I find that I'm shopping there several times a week. Even though this website seems to make it appear the business is open, it's not (as of yesterday November 12, 2021). At least not at the previous, traditional location. Produce quality and price are good, but one star for employees who do not wear masks, This is a small area, employees are handling food and checking us out/handling money--WITHOUT MASKS. The people giving low reviews must not be from around here. Spanish speakers and bugs at an outdoor market, in Florida? Crazy!! The prices are always great and if the product is in season, near free. If you shop produce at Publix or Winn Dixie you know what a gem this place is, Near half the price and twice the size and quality. Not everytime but most. Parking is a nightmare in season but nowhere near as bad as waiting for a stupid restaurant or in line at a checkout to buy somethings a store in "the City". Not many places like this left, crybabies seem to like corporate chains, so they can think somebody will like to listen to them complain. Give this place a try, very good chance you will leave happy. read more

We are regular customers of this market, recently arrived about 5pm, called first to see when they closed and was told 6 pm so we decided to go. There were about 12 or more employees (?) taking away all the produce and price signs as we tried to shop at 5 pm. Even as we were picking out something they boxed it up and had no regard for us, who wanted to buy. When we tried to get to the cashier there were employees with the collection boxes on the floor all over the place, we couldn't move, they were rude blocking all the paths and none of them spoke English. When I said "excuse me" repeatedly, we were totally ignored, I am sure (if the owner speaks English)he would be appalled seeing this total lack of concern for his customers. He needs to hire someone who speaks English and can manage employees. Publix or any other market would never disrespect people this way. read more

This fabulous produce market has everything, fresh and reasonably priced, maybe even cheap! What I got for a measly $13 - one box baby bella mushrooms, one large zucchini, large bag of GORGEOUS tomatoes, one bunch asparagus, one bunch green onions, two large sweet potatoes, large bunch leeks, one head cabbage, 3 large poblanos and several jalapenos. OMG - I skipped all the way to my Jeep before drving home to make a tomato sandwich with South Carolina made Duke's mayo! This is my new favorite place to shop! Each from a different person that have to daily deal with the traffic and congestion caused by this business. Just because they don't want to deal with their parking lot issues, we are subjugated to the potential dangerous situations caused by the lack of their responsibility. I use to shop there until I realized the compounding parking problem. I might shop there again when they fix it. The most difficult parking I have ever encountered. This is a great small business. They have a tremendous variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. My wife and I especially enjoyed the fresh asparagus, grapefruit, and cantaloupe most of all. The cantaloupes are so sweet and juicy that we take some home with us! read more
