Oh I really do like Barbour stuff. As the English would say 'it's proper'. None of yer chinese rubbish here. I avoid Chinese stuff. No tat. I think reassuringly expensive applies which is a great oxymoron.
It's headquartered in South Shields. When I got to South Shields - not the most glamorous of travel locations but we liked it - I had five things in mind: the Laurel & Hardy bronze, their Roman Fort, the Angel of the North, the sea and Barbour.
This Barbour place is within the Kildare Shopping Village which is about 40 tedious minutes drive from Dublin involving a toll road.
I filled me boots in Barbour HQ last year so I just got meself a delightful coat that I suppose I don't actually need to go with my other Barbour coats and a snazzy pair of shorts that will look well in the Carribean but for now Morocco will have to do.
To go to the Carribean I usually have to go to the USA first and now I resile from visiting.
Being insanely rip off expensive is bad enough but over 70 million citizens voted for that lunatic and I don't really want to go there again. Many might do so again.
There is probably no single unifying theory which can explain the hydra-headed badness of the Trump years.
But let's go for one anyway.
Leaving aside his various personality disorders, his obvious unsuitability for public service, and his essentially criminal disposition, if there is one thread which connects many of his actions it's this: he has consistently behaved like someone whose mission it is to destroy the United States.
