My daughter loves Barbizon. I have seen a boost in her confidence level, and I feel that her training has prepared her to pursue modeling and commercial opportunities once she graduates. Not completely satisfied with the Modeling/Acting classes for children. For the price of the course, I expected more. I felt it was a waste of time and money. I don't feel my daughter got enough knowledge. I honestly regret registering my daughter at Barbizon. I gave it two starts because the admin staff were always attentive and helpful. read more

I am a Barbizon student. I can say that my time at Barbizon was well spent. Although I did encounter problems such as unprofessional teachers and repetitive account confusion it was somewhat fixed. Now that I am coming to an end of my schooling I can say I did gain confidence and also acting experience. My walk was already good but I did get better and I learned new spins. I got a lot better in my acting skills. So overall I would say there were a lot of ups and downs but they were handled and I still feel I got something from the Barbizon schooling. read more

I graduated form Barbizon in 2008, the agency they have on site was able to hook me up with modeling jobs with companies like Footwear Unlimited, Sofft and many more. I honestly didnt think it would be possible but I took the chance and it ended up helping me pay for college. People told me it was a scam, but whats the difference on getting a college degree and then end up working for minimum wage or with no job in your area at all? Same thing! It's a great place for kids to start their career they want to be whether singing, dancing, modelling or acting. I sign up for modeling and acting and it was helpful for what I need to do to become a model and actor. However the downfall that's it's expensive. But it's friendly and will make offers for you to be interested or not. read more

My daughter attended the dance class and she had fun. It's a clean and inviting atmosphere. I find there price for there class to be high I wish the dancers at the school were given the opportunity to audition for casting calls. My daughter has become more confident and sure of herself. These people are scams. When you go there, they claim they gonna help you find acting and modeling gigs. THATS A LIE. EVERYTHING IS ABOUT MONEY. I graduated from there 5 years ago, I still haven't book 1 job with them. Recently they emailed me saying there was going to be this scouting agent who's looking for new talents, and also I would have to audition a monologue or whatever and also receive a free head shot from their fake photoshoot they set up. when we got there.The meeting was held at some hotel on E. 43 Btwn 2 and 1 ave. this lady had a slideshow and video presentation, more like a re to convince us in her scam. Then she gave each one of us a package. Opened it up, it says each person had to pay $5000.00 to fly to LA to actually meet people in the industry. I auditioned, of course the same day around 8:00 pm. I received a call saying that I did really well, the scout agent loved me, I made it to the next round, and I have to come back to meet up with her the following day and Make sure I bring 2,500.00 with me for a deposit. The funny thing is she said in the voicemail if you bring somebody with you, you will only $500.00 deposit, then you can set a payment plan. WHATTTTT? SCAMMMMM. I spent about $ 2,500. 00 attending this stupid school, thinking they could help me Jumpstart my modeling career. Of course, they just stole my money, the last thing they gonna get from me is more money. They accept anybody, and they make false promises. Everybody that I spoke with, that actually attended this school has nothing good to say about it. Everybody says the same thing. IT'S A SCAM. Please do not waste your time or your money or your children's time. They will give him or her high hopes to steal your money please stay away, unless you don't mind wasting your money. read more

Today is Dec. 8, 2015 and to this day no phone call and my refund has not been deposited into my account. It should of been deposited on Dec. 5th which is a month to the day that submitted my letter requesting a refund. This is extremely unacceptable from a supervisor whom I've been trying to get a hold of for an explanation as to why my refund has not been returned. I was first approached at the shopping mall regarding signing up my kids for Barbizon. We went to the Manhattan location, was talked into the program for both of my daughters, as it would boost there confidence levels and overall help them in the future. Since my younger daughter wants to be an actress, I thought the training program would be a great start for her, at age 8. Signed up both of my girls, as it would be a greater discount on the programs when doing so. At first they liked it, but after a few classes, they no longer wanted to go. I felt like they are not really learning anything and they were bored but we already signed up and there was no cancellation, or money back. My daughters have gained some confidence from the program but nothing much to talk about. My advise to parents, if your kids are not into it, please don't sign them up. Its simply a waste of money, put them in activities they like and want to do. Overall the staff at Barbizon is wonderful but I will not have my kids continue with any of there programs. I received an email stating my granddaughter was selected to come in for an interview,don't know where they got her name from but anyway she goes there with her mother and I guess was told by a staff member she could be in pictures,she worked with people in the tv industry,gave her high hopes.I paid the deposit over the phone was given the same story and sounded good.My granddaughter was told by one of the teachers to buy some 5" pencil heeled pumps,she's 12!!!! After several classes no one noticed this little girl could not walk in these shoes and was uncomfortable?Then she missed a couple of classes which she has to make up and the last class will be 4/28/18 but my last payment is suppose to be May 2nd.Graduation is next Saturday and what they don't understand is when they don't approve the clothing for graduation,i have to spend additional monies.The teacher approving the clothing carries a little attitude and for all the money I paid Barbizon,I feel ripped off. If I notice she can't do a cat walk on the runway,what was I paying you to teach her for the past 6 months? I would not recommend this school to anyone,i would sought out other companies who actually help you make it.You pay for information here then go on about life and the only thing they can offer is lifetime classes,it shouldn't take a lifetime to become successful if you paid for training! read more

My child decided not to attend anymore, I called barbizon 2 days after the registration day, I sent a cancellation letter the next day as requested, then they went ahead to withdraw money ($600) from my account that very same day I called them (money was to be removed around a week later as told), this to me is theft. Then, they continued to withdraw money ($95.63) from my card every week even though everything was cancelled and on time. I recalled them and they claimed they did not receive any cancellation letter. They asked me for the tracking nber. Luckily I always have proofs of everything I do, bc if not, they will use it as a reason to say I did not send any letter. Then they said a supervisor will call me. Until today, I haven't heard from any supervisor and anytime I call them, they keep saying the supervisor is not there. They are telling me now they opened my case the last day I called them, instead of the first day or the day the letter was sent. Just because they want to justify by saying the money was withdrawn before I cancelled. Unfortunately I have enough evidence for my claim and I am ready to do everything in my power to get my money back. No one gets away with my money (the sweat of my brow) just like that. THIS IS A SHAMEFUL , DISGRACEFUL AND DISCREDITABLE BUSINESS WITH THE SOLELY PURPOSE OF STEALING FROM ANYONE WHO FALLS IN THEIR TRAP. If I can give this school a zero, I would. My teenage daughter graduated from this school a few years back. I knew from the beginning that this school was not going to offer my daughter any job. It is obvious. They really cannot; so do not believe any of their promises or ad. I registered my daughter for the modeling class so that they can show her all about etiquette. I was very upfront with them from the beginning to save time from any BS. They absolutely fail to do that. They said and stated on their class schedule that they will teach student the proper manner to dine, comb hair, public speaking etc. They did not go by their so called class scheduled. The only two things that they did which were taught poorly were to walk and put make up on. That's it! Unbelievable for almost $2000! So my suggestion is please do not waste your money neither for the modeling or acting class. read more

went this morning with my daughter. sat through an hour class. then they come in and say if we choose you for our program you need to come back later (3 hours later) and meet with our photographer for pics. then they bring you into a private room and build the lil girls confidence. while making sure the parent is engaged which was cool. she then said let me see if we have room for you and left the room. came back 10 mins later and said your in luck and we think your special. lolol...then proceeded to go through everything for a 6 month course. then the price comes and she said "my boss is feeling generous today cause she took off $1000"... from 6k to 5k...ahh now i felt special. lol...i said your gonna do that for us...but ok. when i said ok thank you i will think about this the whole demeanor changed. she said then why did you waste my time when you clearly arent the decision maker. ha!!! i then proceeded to say thank you and i will be in touch this week. stuck out my hand to shake hers to say good-bye and she got up grabbed my daughter and said come on sweetie let me show you the other rooms. not shaking my hand by the way. clearly blew me off and harped on a 10 year old cause obviously she was the easy target. didnt even look at me after this. like a lion in the wild harping on the weak. again my daughter is 10. my daughter was like " dad she said they have a spot for me and they accepted me"... listen girl ( ill leave her name out at barbizon) cause thats what you are... maybe sharpen your closing skills. cause if she had said " you know what sir think about it and get back to us this week and hopefully we can work together" i would have been all in... the hard sell "does not work" especially that im in sales myself... i mean really come-on... read more
