I have been cutting my son's hair myself for 9 years. Super easy to just buzzz the whole thing off. Well, he's had some issues with pulling his hair lately and started to develop little bald patches in the back. If I shaved it myself, it would be very obvious. So we felt it was time to find a professional. We did not make an appointment but they accept walk-ins no problem. We did wait for a while, but it wasn't too bad really. When it was our turn, I quietly explained the situation and showed pictures of what my son wanted. There was no judgement at all. The guy was very understanding and clear about what he could and couldn't do because of the patches. He was gentle and offered to make an additional change, even after he was technically done. My son said in the future he wants to come back and get "the cool guy" when he needs another cut. That's a success in my book! There are only two reasons why this is not a 5 star review... first, the guy didn't introduce himself. I have no idea what his name is to try and book him again. Second, it was SO hot and stuffy inside!! It didn't seem like the AC was on (they mentioned turning it on later) and it was hot enough that the 90 degrees outside felt cooler. This barbershop seems like it would be a great barber shop. However, my first experience was absolutely horrible, so I'll never go back to find out. I walk in and wait less than 15 minutes. (Already THAT was a plus+ considering wait times in barber shops tend to be much more.) Only 2 barbers were in the shop, and the barber that finished called me to be next. I walk up and greet him, let him know what I want as well as provide him with a picture.. & unfortunately from this point on is where my experience went south. He said his name was Mississippi. I asked him for a line up, and his exact words were, "the first rule or barbering is a woman does not get a line up." First of all I'm paying you for your service, not your opinion. Let's address that off top.. as he started my haircut his clippers kept pulling my hair and he was extremely rough, almost to the point where I felt like he was cutting me. I didnt say anything because there's no crying in a man's world.. but as he preceded on to my line up, he started doing extra stuff like trying to shape my eyebrows even though all I came in for was a basic fade. I quickly asked him for a mirror in attempt to stop him from touching my eyebrows just a second longer, but I was already just a second to late. He had clipped off a decent chunk of the end of my eyebrow and didnt even have the decency to apologize. I've been shaving the sides of my head for over 12 years. I've been to numerous barbers and barber shops from central California down to Los Angeles and I have NEVER had an experience like this before. I should have walked out and not paid for the haircut, but I didn't. I let him know what he did was wrong and to look at my eyebrow, and he again had the audacity to say "No.." I'm so very upset and extremely unsatisfied. Never will I step foot in this barbershop again. read more

I'm only giving an extra star because the man in there was friendly.. but to be my first experience at a barbershop, I'd have to say it was ridiculous. I'm used to going to hair salons but since I decided to cut my hair off I wanted to find a barber. A female barber named Desha, sounded nice since I'm a woman and I wanted to go with someone familiar with feminine looks I guess. Anyway, she showed up over 30 minutes late which is a horrible first impression. Then my cut was quick with little to no care, barely looked anything like the photo shown, I mean, no combing or trimming my hair, my design was ridiculously crooked and done carelessly, no products used what so ever, not even alcohol. I honestly hated it and went home to fix it up tremendously better than she did as a professional. I just felt like it was a careless quick job, I guess that's why it was $20. I'm not the type to make someone feel bad about their work but I'd rather save another person the headache. She almost made me hate my decision to cut my hair for the first time in my life. I felt like I should've been taken care of since I explained that to her. I wouldn't recommend her at this shop at all, maybe the men there.. but they definitely lost a potential customer in me. read more
