Barbara Kite's Acting Studio is ideal for actors of all types of experience. The class can serve as either a complementary enhancement to any current actor whether it's before, during, or after work of your own, in addition to aspiring actors in need of guidance and support. From accredited actors to newcomers, there's always something that can be learned both from Barbara, along with the entire collection of actors within the class. She's relentless in the pursuit of providing her students with the necessary tools to both advance and progress professionally, due largely to her theater and film credentials. She has an intuitive and selfless understanding of the individual and the artist. As a result, she establishes such a personalized relationship as she takes the time to aide each actor towards reaching his/her full potential. She seamlessly establishes a working relationship predicated on trust, growth, and belief in her students by laying an educational foundation based on Techniques from Meisner, Chekhov, and Stanislavsky, to name a few. She has a great understanding in easing in new actors with beginning exercises such as; The Waiting exercise, Talking To, (involving the range of emotions with sad, mad, glad, and fearful), Sense Memory, and the Private Moment, in order to further gauge the efficacy in which the aforementioned exercises can ultimately help in amplifying acquired tools and then create easier emotional accessibility in regard to prospective script work. Eventually, the animal exercise, independent activity, and six minutes exercise, further paves the way for monologue prep and script work. Barbara creates such a safe environment that encourages both successes and failures, which is the key to any art form. Her unique approach in educating her students is a truly rewarding experience and one that I highly recommend! read more
