If I jumped in as a new Crew Lead, gave them at least 200 hours of good work, I would get my CDL training, my hotel would be covered...and I might even get a daily stipend while training. Deal. I worked over 750 hours in a State Park in "feels like" temperatures as high as 105 Fahrenheit. I managed two workers half my age and worked my tail off to keep up with them. I lost over 20 pounds. I never missed a day, never called out sick, was never even late by more than a couple of minutes. I kept asking about my CDL training. "Don't worry, we're getting all the details squared away. Give us a couple more weeks..." One day, without warning, the PM from CareerSource rolls in and shuts down the project. Go home, we're done here. "But don't worry, you'll still get your training." Only now I'm told I no longer qualify for the training as I'm "no longer attached to the project." This is an enterprise whose "mission" is to train and re-career workers... who has lied and cheated me out of my promised training. If this sounds like a good time to you, go for it!
