We were just too hungry after visiting the Museum next to this place on a Sunday. Firstly, it was not easy to find because the restaurant sits on a terrace which you reach after taking more than 50 stairs. Some serious effort with a stroller. This place is actually a sports bar where you can eat different type of burgers. We ate one LA and one CBO burger, which were quite delicious. The plate comes with sliced fried potatoes, mayonaise and ketchup. Indeed, they charge 2CHF per plate (guess some people steal them?!) and return you at check-out. It has a nice terrace as well which I am sure guests would enjoy on a sunny day.

Herbed potatoes and 3 Franc wine

One of my favorite bars in the world. Great beer and wine selection, and genuinely friendly bartenders. Lots of seating-really fun to come here with a large group of friends. There is a pleasant outdoor area too with twinkle lights and a nice view of the Lausanne cathedral. I personally come here for the 3 Franc wine and herbed potato appetizer. It's 8 francs, but ridiculously delicious, and large enough to share with 2 or 3 friends. Located right in the middle of the city center, next to the metro. If you are in Lausanne, you must come here.

Great place to hang out especially on sunny evenings... The best terrace in Lausanne :)

Nice selection of beers. Crowded and noisy - a fun place to go with a "great" group, but not for a quiet "escape".

Finally was able to check this place out at lunch time yesterday, after hearing so much about it…read more There are not many burger places between Geneva and Lausanne, and those living here have very strong opinions regarding which grills up the best patty. This location is often argued to be one of the best. The location is easy, just a few steps away from the Ours Lausanne metro stop. The place itself is tiny and they squeeze as many seats in as possible. You can make reservations for a table if you call in advance. If you are more than one person, I would definitely recommend it. The menu is simply burgers - beef, chicken, fish, veggie. You have a choice for an additional cost of adding a side of salad or fries. There are also a few dessert choices, but I didn't see anyone get any, probably because there is no room left after packing away the burger. While you can order to take away, not all the burgers are available for that option. I ordered the Marius burger with frites. The salad looked fantastic as well, but I had to try the infamous frites. Everything was delicious, and the fries definitely lived up to their reputation. I still think for overall quality the burger bun at Rando Burger is better. Putting this burger place as my new second favourite for the area, closely followed by Inglewood as third. I had no complaints regarding the service. Also, be sure to end your meal with an espresso! One of my highlights was receiving my espresso in a Victorian tea cup, with a bite size nibble of their homemade brownie resting along side of it. Very cool. Plus, the coffee was good! Unfortunately, like most places, Zoo is only open Monday - Saturday. Interestingly, they are open for food 11:30 am- 10:00pm. But, per their website for drinks only they remain open until 12:00pm.

First of all here's the disclaimer. I'm vegetarian, so I have only had the veggie options --and…read morethey are fantastic. I've ordered a lot of veggie burgers over the years (from all over the world) and these are the best I've had. They are so good, I 'be gone there two days in a row. I'm not the only one who thinks these burgers are amazing which is why Zoo Burger is packed. If you want to sit down and enjoy your burger, you need to reserve in advance. But fear not. Pin Up Bar next door will let you sit in their venue and eat your burger. This gives you the best of both worlds as Pin Up Bar has a more extensive wine and beer list and you get to eat you meal without being squished. Bonus!
