This small family run cafe beside a Charlie Lovetts chain has a few great things going for it. First and foremost the coffee is smooth and delicious. They use Campos coffee beans which are pretty tasty but perhaps more importantly is the man behind the coffee machine is a good one. Meaning he makes a fine extra-hot-weak-soy-mocha in a cup. Fussy I admit but when a barista gets a finicky drink request like this one perfect I know I'm on to a good thing.
Though every seat in this cafe was full, service was still very fast most likely because there are only a dozen or so tables. I like that the staff are laid back, that is, they're not frantic when there's a rush on yet, as I said, they're still efficient.
I like that they do a cafe version of Happy Hour - for $6.50 you can get a coffee + snack (muffin, brownie, croissant, cookie or friand). The blueberry muffins are full of blueberries and very sweet so if you like that in a muffin this is your place.
They also serve T2 tea in cute purple teapots. If you are looking for a reusable coffee cup they sell 3 sizes of Keep Cup starting at $10 for the 4oz.
Breakfasts and lunches range from $4 to $16. They only have one gluten free option and that's the Frittata. Sour cherry and raisin toast with jam ($5), smoked ham and provolone cheese croissant ($6.50) and walnut and fig toast with ricotta and honey ($6.50) are some noteworthy dishes.
Toilets are around the corner and down the street.
