I went to Bar Meze last year, curious about the promised mix of Turkish and European cuisine. It requires a trek out to Headington, but if that sort of food's your thing, you won't be disappointed. My friends assured me that it was pretty genuine, so if you're from Turkey or Eastern Europe, this may alleviate some cravings for home food; if not, it's worth trying it to see what it's all about. The food's good quality though, but you pay for what you get and my wallet took a bit of a bruising. Monday night is music night - probably worth checking out, although I imagine it may be another matter of taste. read more
