One thing about the portal system too is that you can't karaoke without the actual artist singing as well, so that was a MAJOR downside for our experience. We asked the owner about it when she came in to check on us, but she said that some songs had the artist singing along and others didn't. You just had to be lucky when choosing the song. We got it to work, though, once by pressing random buttons, but were never able to replicate it afterward. DRINKS If you're looking for good drinks, this is not the place. We shared a Sprite Vodka, and it was worth the price considering it was mostly vodka, but the execution of what we ordered was off. SERVICE The barista/cashier up front was very accommodating in explaining to us how the system worked and resolved any issues should we have any (upping the volume, how to connect YouTube from our phones to the TV, etc. Again, the downside of our experience was that they didn't know how to navigate the system so the artist wasn't singing along with us (which defeats the purpose of karaoke). Complaints about it being alcohol-free, having gum taken away, or being told to put phones away miss the point entirely. There is no VIP area on purpose - everyone in the club is considered equal. The lighting is minimal, and the layout is simple... mostly a large seating area and a big dance floor. He took the machine from me and said obnoxiously, "You didn't pay a tip?!" and swiftly put his nasty hands over the drink and pulled it back. I told him I wasn't adding a tip when I was deliberately passed over. I asked why would I tip for poor service? He then had the nerve to accuse me of now being in the way of others (how effing obnoxious!). Right on cue this dude stepped up in perfect entitled fashion. Like an idiot, I actually went to explain myself to him. To my surprise this kid declared, "You have to give a tip!" All I can say is we are truly some obnoxious F-ers to think we deserve something for nothing. It's like getting spit in the face and than thanking the person who did it.
