After 3+ years, I finally get a response and it's a lie. The response says that they haven't managed the building in question 'for a few years.' Well, 1.) it's listed as part of your portfolio (http://barinvest-usa.com/1017-jefferson-avenue-miami). I'd assume that if something had been out of your control for a few years, you'd update your website. You're either lying or unprofessional/lazy to list units you don't manage. 2.) 3+ years for a response? Heh. Of course. It's Bar Invest Group. Look, review after review says the same thing about these people. If you come up with any conclusion other than to run as far/fast as you can in the opposite direction after reading these reviews... well, that's on you. There's only so many times the crowd can say the same thing over and over. read more

This is a big time warning against renting with these crooks. I moved out of the building I had been living in for 1.5 years within 2 months of them buying the building. They neglected maintenance requests and accused me of not paying rent when they had already deposited the check, but the icing on the cake was that they kept $130 of my deposit based on lies. $30 for the toilet seat which they said was not attached (it was), and $100 for a cleaning when I cleaned it better than when I moved in. I can't wait to see proof of these claims, I'm literally excited to see what they will do. I actually found items from the previous tenant in the bottom part of the oven that had been there the entire time I lived there... Lol This incompetent Dulce, you can hear in her voice that she knows she is wrong so she just says vague and sparse statements so that she sounds legit but I can hear right through her. These people are crooks but they are not very smart crooks. Do your research long and hard, and read the lease real close -- they'll do anything to nickel, dime, and in my case, $130 you (although I will fight it to court, but save yourself the hassle). ---------------------------------- Update: they had a lawyer email me today that all their claims are valid but had NO PROOF OR EXPLANATION of why my house needed a cleaning or new toilet seat. NOT ONE PICTURE OR ANY EVIDENCE TO BACK IT UP. If you feel like being scammed, definitely do business with them. But simply take a look on zillow for apartments with a different landlord (and probably cheaper for same value) and do yourself a favor. Glad I got out when I did read more

They don't care about tenant health. While we lived on 75th the mold and roach problem (we even cited the roach problem on our move in checklist) was so horrible we had to beg the owners (BoardWalk Properties) to let us break the lease and move into a different apartment. My partner has asthma and the horrible BLACK MOLD in our apartment had him using his inhaler constantly. We wrote to Bar Invest over 6 times regarding the mold. Even after OUR investment in an air purifier, we had mold on our clothes, shoes, everywhere. Maintenance did not come unless we sent about 4 emails in the same day and left voicemails that were rarely answered. When they did come, they left a mess, and even PAINTED A BLOB OF THE WRONG COLOR ON MY WALL AND LEFT IT FOR WEEKS. Once a non-tenant entered our building and defecated in our building!!! No safety as Bar Invest didn't even make sure the cameras are working. They remove unfavorable reviews on sites like Facebook because they don't want people seeing the truth about their poor property management. A few other people had written reviews here as well and they removed them in February. Their new "Marketing Manager", Laetitia, reached out to me on facebook and wrote: "Cab you please remove your comment from our page BAR INVEST GROUP, unfortunatelly we are not managing this property. you can request help to boardwalk properties how are the owner and manager of your property O 305-763-8301 x 205 thank you for your comprehension" LOL WHAT? Remove my review? Boardwalk properties was great in helping us move from the poop popsicle apartment and into a livable apartment. Bar Invest Group managed our property for TEN MONTHS and NEVER fixed the mold or roach infestation. The fact that they have not been shut down baffles me. read more

I meant to write this review two years ago during the worst living experience of my life (700 Euclid Avenue) Basically, they are non-responsive and "ratty". They will not fix your place, even with a leak producing regular 1-inch water across your entire apartment. It took them 21 days to fix I almost sued them, then didn't, then found out that I should have reported them to the Housing Commission. To be honest, this organization should be shut down, and their property managers should be blacklisted from ever working in this space again. So so so dissapointing read more

Zero stars. Beware before you sign the lease, review and modify as needed, because they make promises they do not intend to keep, and everybody will pass off the buck on you later. read more

This real state company is a scam. Maintenance service is terrible. They don´t give you back your deposit. They don´t allow you to be present on the inspection day and they make up imperfections to charge you more. They are thieves. read more

This is a dishonest company that doesn't deserve your money. The maintenance department and general office manager are disinterested and rude. They wanted to charge me $200 to install an Ethernet capable wall-plate when I first moved into my studio. I couldn't connect an internet router to the wall to start using the wifi service I purchased. They said it wasn't their responsibility to provide apartments with that hardware. Their excuses for denying my request didn't make sense. Eventually, after two weeks of emails and ignoring my calls, they agreed to install the wall-plate. The maintenance manager, some rude Argentinian guy, told me it was a favor and continue to deny the validity of my request. He even said I should call the Internet company to come into the apartment and do the cabling. Everything about that situation was frustrating but they went lower than that. They try to rob you of your money at every chance they get. My neighbors at The Boutique were charged an extra $100 of rent one month because the office lost the check they sent in the mail. The office said it was late but that wasn't the problem according to what my neighbor suspected. That month they changed the way they accepted rent payments from money orders to paying online only. Bar invest really wanted residents to start using the website to pay starting that month but not everyone including myself received the notice via email so my neighbor sent her check as usual and was fed a ridiculous story to make her pay them extra. She had never been late before and didn't think it was possible that time either. They charged me $120 to clean my apartment after I moved out even though I left my apartment spotless. I took hours to clean every corner, including inside the oven, floors, cabinets, fridge, bathroom, all before moving out and took a vide of the impeccable results. No one cleans their apartment to that degree before moving out but I knew who I was dealing with. They charged me $120 for cleaning alone plus $300 for wall touch ups which in my lease states would be a single fee of $300 for both things. In my case the wall had maybe two spots that needed a little paint and the apartment didn't actually need cleaning. These people had the nerve to break the agreement and kept $120 that remain unaccountable. The pool area, the hallways, floors and gates are in worse condition every day and no one does anything about it. The pool area has two lounging chairs and one is broken so you can't sit on it but they still leave it there. The pool was never emptied and it was only cleaned during the summer. The gutters of the pool are constantly dirty with trash. There were more issues like blinds that they cut with scissors unevenly so they don't touch the window ledge but look awful. Another thing was when they asked me for documents that no one asks for just to get a parking permit. They can't figure out an easy way for you to park your car by the building you live in. This company locks you into a contract and doesn't care about anything else, forget about customer service. Some of the women at the office have bad attitudes and look annoyed or angry if you ask them for anything. They should maybe look into paying them more. It's incredibly hard to build positive relationships and trust with people who will always be looking for ways to cheat you out of cash and provide you with an apartment that is falling apart. It's depressive to pay so much rent for a mediocre experience. I advise you to find another place to live if you can. read more

Note: ** Denotes services/professional excellence I would consider far above and beyond what is necessary based on my observation throughout my tenure on planet earth. So, context is everything. I am an engineer/doctor and legalese escapes me intellectually but finds its way into my life frequently: patents and corporate law usually. People enjoy signing contracts with me as much as... they like going to the dentist. I am very particular about understanding the details and making sure I am aware of the ecology in my current legal habitat. I am as bothersome as a lawyer and about a third as smart/informed. The contract was pretty run of the mill, everybody. Tenants can be pretty awful in the worst case and if you or I owned an asset company we wouldn't write the contracts any differently. The execution was far better than anticipated. When I arrived, the waiting time was minimal and I was greeted warmly by Dulce**, who I discovered would be the unlucky person to answer my questions and walk me through the contract proper. During the contracting process she was very patient**, knowledgeable**, and pleasant**; addressing any and all questions thoroughly without even the slightest hint of frustration**. [That's a virtue I haven't seen much, folks.] I have no qualms about working with this individual, I feel fortunate even. The maintenance manager and staff were also great, I pointed out a few loose hinges and other minor things in an otherwise very well maintained apartment and they were tended to within fifteen minutes of arrival.** They were very kind and patient with me. The maintenance manager was very professional, she was taking photographs of small damages unnoticeable to me during the walkthrough for my protection**. The gentleman even dropped by fifteen minutes or so later to replace a light bulb he had noticed was dim.** As for the complaints on nickeling and diming: the reasons for fees and their amounts are in the contract down to the cent. If you stay on top of your contract and uphold it you aren't going to lose money unjustly. Life doesn't protect your money, you do, so read the contract and be well-informed, no? Their terms and fees were not unreasonable: for example, if you blow off a pest-service appointment because you failed to take note of it: the ladies/gents performing the service and its coordination shouldn't be expected to work pro bono for you. Based on my experience, I recommend them highly. read more

I've lived in 2 bar invest apartments over the last 5 years and have had a good experience. Good rent for locations, have not had a problem with noise, they spray monthly for pest control, have been friendly, and quickly resolve any maintenance issue that arises, which is fortunately not been often. read more
