After further evaluation, it was determined that the issue was nerve-related rather than dental, and that a root canal or surgery would not help. Instead, I was advised to see a neurologist. Thanks to this recommendation, I was promptly diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia, and because it was caught early, I now have a strong treatment plan in place.
