It's only 4 floors and around two dozen units or so, for those avoiding the supersized hotels. The staff is only at a handful of members, with one person working the front desk (they change shifts but I never got their names), fluent in English and of course Italian, but the bonus is that they are excellent at giving walking and public transportation directions (this seems to be the case with most in Milan...you'd be surprised at the baffling directions given to us in Brussels and Paris!). Breakfast is standard of what you may find in Europe: bakery sweets, bread, fruit, juice, coffee, cold meats&cheese, all of very good quality. The rooms are Ikea-like but with a chic Italian touch. One star off for rock-hard pillows. Makes for a very uncomfortable night's (lack of) rest. The location, despite the "Navigli" in the hotel name, seems to be slightly north of it and more part of Porta Genova according to the city map (although I would have no clue either way how accurate this is). The #3 tram is right outside and takes you straight into the Duomo area in just under 10 minutes, but you can also walk there (approx 1mile north) as there are MANY shops to explore along the way. The neighborhood itself is near lots of little eateries and consignment shops, with a McD next door and Grom several blocks up. Lastly, the wi-fi is solid! (how else would I post this review in real time?).

A warm and welcoming staff, fantastic location, steps away from the beautiful Canal and close to the Metro. The hotel is tastefully designed with a lovely breakfast room and multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas. And a rooftop and spa area that I didn't get a chance to enjoy. My room was clean, modern and well appointed with a small outdoor space. A toweling robe and slippers were a lovely addition. The hotel breakfast was quite extensive, fresh and delicious with kind and attentive servers. A special treat was the happy hour with an impressive selection of complementary hors d'oeuvres. Very rude and stalker front desk man who clearly hates his life to be obsessively monitoring each guest. He doesn't understand customer service or basic human decency at all. Just the one man with glasses (sorry I don't know his name) ruined my whole experience. I would never recommend this hotel. If management sees this, you should consider hiring someone else to take over the night shift. It was unbelievable. It was so bad that I had to book another hotel just to get away from this inhumane man. Really! I'd rather pay more to be treated with respect and have my own privacy at a so-called 4 star hotel.

The hotel has a beautifully decorated and spacious lobby. We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of our trip and 2 nights at the end of our trip. So we ended up staying in two different rooms. Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. The rooms looked newly remodeled. It was very hot outside that week and the air conditioning kept our room comfortably cool. The first room faced the street and had an interesting street view. Even with facing the street, it was a very quiet room. The only drawback was that the wi-fi in this room only worked if we stood right next to the entry door to the room, but we managed so it wasn't a problem. Our second room that we stayed in at the end of the trip faced the back of the hotel and was a larger room with no wi-fi issues in this room. The front desk staff offered to keep our extra luggage in storage at the hotel while we traveled to other cities mid-week. The free breakfast buffet which was provided at the hotel every morning was fantastic!!! It included prosciutto, cheese, assorted croissants, fresh fruit, assorted juices and much more. It was the best breakfast that we ate while we were in Italy. A nice waiter, named Maximillan, realized that I liked 2 lattes with my breakfast each morning, and always came back to my table to ask if I was ready for my second latte. All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Most of them spoke excellent English and were eager to help if we needed anything. I highly recommend that you stay here when you visit Milan.

First of all - location is totally fine. It doesn't seem that wonderful, but the hotel is about a block from the train station and we didn't feel weird at all walking around at night or on the train. The hotel has free parking, but it is a very very tiny parking lot with not a lot of room, so if you have a larger car - beware (or ask them to help you park). Check in was rather easy, and the person at the desk was quite friendly. I was there with my college and he did end up confusing our rooms which caused some confusion later with the keys, but it wasn't a big deal (though it might have been in a different situation if we had booked different sized rooms). There is a person to help with the bags and he was also quite friendly, but I did get the impression that they preferred to bring our bags up for us vs us carrying them. However, since the elevators are super tiny, I'm not sure we all would have fit with our bags. There are also some steps to the elevators, so the luggage wasn't really easy to handle anyway. The decor in the lobby is a bit RED, but it looks comfortable enough and I think there is also a small bar in the back. When we came back after dinner, there was also a fire which made it cozy. On to the rooms...they are pretty small. We had actually booked larger rooms and then when we checked in, we seem to have been given the smaller room (either size was small, but this was like 12 sq m I think?). They did not charge us for larger rooms, but I would have liked to know this when we checked in to double confirm what room we were supposed to have. We had specifically booked specific room sizes. Actually, nothing was confirmed with us when we checked in - they just took our passports and then gave us keys. It was fine for one night, but if you are staying longer, I would suggest a larger room (I would assume the bathrooms are a bit larger as well). The amenities are not what I would consider 4 star - but in Europe, the star ratings are not the same as in the US. It was clean (though, the corners of the shower had a little mold in mine - otherwise, the room was totally spotless). Checkout was quick, but we had some issues as we needed specific information on our invoices and they refused to reprint them for us. They said they didn't know how and had messed up a bunch of information. It was kind of annoying that they didn't seem to want to help us, but when you're traveling for work - we need things a certain way and I found them to be less than helpful. Overall, it was a fine stay and for one night on the way to the airport, it was ok. However, if I were returning on vacation, I would stay in a hotel with larger rooms and more amenities.

Each floor is color coded with similar striking graphics and grayscale photos that include colored sections that match the decor. Rooms have small fridges and a decent size tv (if that's important to you) There's a skeleton crew of staff that seem friendly enough but not overtly so. The downsides are the rooms are pretty small and there is no view whatsoever out the window. I'm not talking about a view of the alleyway or the car park, I'm talking about a 3 foot tall piece of frosted glass that blocks any view for anyone under 7 feet tall! Now there's not much to see outside on the front of the hotel but on the backside (west side) where my room was located was a nice park with a soccer field , playground and benches. Not sure why I wouldn't want to see that. but still, that's a new one for me. The biggest problem IMHO is that that pace is kinda in the middle of nowhere. It's 30 min walking to the cathedral and the shops near there and other than the Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio there really isn't much nearby in any direction. If you've got a car or are familiar with the metro ( there is a nearby stop) this might be more appealing but if you like to explore on foot there may be better options for you.
