We waited too long to head out for dinner on our first Sunday in Rome and found our first five…read morechoices completely booked solid, or with queues around the block. We popped into this place only 45 minutes prior to closing happy to find some food at all.
Our server was very and welcoming and the place was empty, just us. She offered to have the kitchen make an assortment of offerings for us, due to the time constraints. The tagliere (meat cheese and bread on a board) was quite tasty, but the two meat offerings were cut a bit thick, and difficult to bit through, and the cheese fairly tasteless and dry. The potatoes cacio e pepe was pretty good, but we found the veggie burger to have a weird texture, and not much flavour. The brie in pasta kataifi was enjoyed by the lovely K.
To be fair we didn't pick the items that we got, other than the potatoes which felt didn't really work. I am not a veggie burger kind of guy typically so my review should be taken with that in mind.
The interior of the restaurant is brightly coloured and the tea pot lights over the bar are fantastic. Had I enjoyed the food a 4 star rating would be more fitting, but it wasn't really my choice of.....
