We couldn't flag anyone down either because it got pretty busy and we couldn't find the two men who waited on us. Our foccia was the best we've ever had, but the egg plant parm was mushy and bitter. We tried to share that but they were like okay, you want coffee? Tagliatelle was good.

The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because a lot of the things on the menu said gluten free and definitely were not which was hard for my friend with celiac. All 4 beers (Helles, Dunkel, Weizn, and Winter seasonal) were great. Started with a platter of thinly sliced speck (yum) and then hubby dove into a crispy-skinned pork shank and I dove into a goulash with local speck canederli (basically beer & bacon-infused dumplings). The dumplings were flavorful and perfect for sopping up the saucy goulash. I loved that this venue started out as a tavern, then a café, and finally a tavern again. Beer stills are behind the bar, and a number of cozy dining rooms connected off the bar create the perfect intro to South Tyrolean quaff & cuisine!

The Beet risotto with goat cheese was phenomenal and delicious; the carrot and ginger soup was unique and delicious, ideal for a cold day. The squid ink gnocchi was good and special, something that we had not seen somewhere else and ended up very interesting and exciting to eat. the least favorite item of the menu was the traditional Bolognese lasagna which was good but nothing out of the ordinary and lacked the boldness and innovation of the other items. the price is a bit higher that other places in the area; but it is worth it for the location and the innovative special food items.
