Came here with a group of about 10 people for a chill surprise bachelorette party. I didn't plan it, but apparently the staff are really accommodating and happy to host, even let us decorate the upstairs area if we wanted to. We made it for happy hour and enjoyed the dark lighting and chill vibes that made for a very relaxed hangout with friends. It didn't seem all that busy and the bartender was really friendly and thoughtful with our drinks. I enjoyed the Mai Tai and the Dark and Stormy. No food here. Happy hour prices are reasonable and drinks change up once in a while. Overall, would come back for a quick drink or hangout with friends!

Came here for happy hour and the drinks were reasonably priced. Super dark inside but I like the vibe. There are a lot of intimate seating areas too if you don't want to be directly at the bar.

Love this Greyhound made with gin.

This bar is my go to for a Greyhound. They are made with gin instead of vodka and somehow that just elevates the drink. Happy hour specials are great and last until 8pm. I paid $26 for FOUR cocktails the other evening which is almost unheard of nowadays in Oakland. There is also free herb popcorn. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy. Nice mood lighting adds a little romance. The bonus is how easy it is to find parking here after 5:00.

Valencia Cosmo! This is amaze balls!

I really dig Bar 355! It's a classY bar with a very classIC feel, if you know what I mean ;). The style of the bar presents a very modern day retro feel. The drinks here are pretty amaze balls! I had a Margarita and their specialty Valencia Cosmo cocktail the last time I was here. The Valencia Cosmo was delicious and they even garnished it with a fresh cranberry! Yummy! The price points are very fair here and can range anywhere from $8-$12 but mostly on the lower side. I haven't yet been during happy hour, but I've heard that it's really good! This place has a very chill vibe and casual ambiance. The bartenders are super friendly and the other patrons that I have socialized with here are really cool. The bar is a bit on the smaller side and it gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so it can turn into a shoulder to shoulder situation at times. There are a few tables with booth seating in the back near the restrooms to accommodate groups, but not really ideal for large parties. Bar 355 is definitely more on the intimate side. There is no food or TV's here, but this place is great for a get together with friends or for a nice drink with your significant other. It can get a little loud here, but nothing insane. There are a few parking lots around that are free after 6 that usually have many spaces available. If you are into a low key bar for socializing, add Bar 355 to your list!

    Great atmosphere

Great drinks and beautiful bar! Bartender makes a great Old Fashioned. Get there early for happy hour cheaper drinks.

You know, considering how Bar Three Fifty Five wasn't even our intended destination, I'd say our experience here was a pleasant surprise. Not that I ever thought the place would be bad. Not when, moments after checking in on Yelp, fellow Yelper Vi T. commented, "good choice". Talk about a stamp of approval! People have described the place as a nicer type of dive, and I guess I can kind of see that. However, I'd say it's more like an old school bar (think Tosca Cafe in SF), what with its aged charm and decor (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bar-three-fifty-five-oakland?select=lzkxyciCIHjQoGqWrp-pWw#ezpbe9Q0goONiElPyr6JDA). There's still a bit of an Oakland vibe in the air though, and the small stage in back makes them pretty different in comparison, but that bar! Love the look of it, as well as their slate of alcohol that fills their shelves and drinks. The cocktail menu is short and sweet (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bar-three-fifty-five-oakland?select=lzkxyciCIHjQoGqWrp-pWw#aQ8NZvrXlTlAuUT5s1Y4ug), and not very expensive at $8 a pop (no wonder they're so beloved!). Everything sounded great, but, on my friend's recommendation, I opted for the STARDUST REMEDY (Pimm's, Calvados, Ginger, Lime, and Falernum). The name may sound child friendly, but this cocktail is definitely mature. Balanced flavors with a decent pour, refreshing with some bite, and well-crafted by a bartender/mixologist that knows her stuff (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/bar-three-fifty-five-oakland?select=lzkxyciCIHjQoGqWrp-pWw#tWrpdh50roFOukUiaInJYg). Since we arrived relatively early, snagging a table for the six of us was relatively easy, as was parking around the corner. However, don't be surprised if the place gets packed to the gills as the night goes on. As we were leaving, a steady stream of folks were filing in (it's just two blocks over from The Fox Theater). Either way, Bar Three Fifty Five is worth a visit...and one of my new favorite bars in Oakland!

When I went to close out my tab at the bar, the staff member who came over to help me gave me the dirtiest, impatient, pissed-off look that I've ever received in my life. It was as if I had kicked his dog and personally insulted him, his family and his entire generational line. When he gave me the payment device, he must have accidentally navigated away from correct screen because I didn't have any options to close out my tab (i.e. there was no tip screen, or place to request a receipt). I handed the device back to him and before I could point out the issue, he snatched the device away and rushed off. Knowing something was wrong, I waited at the counter for a few minutes for him to return. I raised the billing issue and his curt response was "you must have waited too long and the screen disappeared -- you're fine". I returned to my table knowing that something was off, but left with my friends since they needed to head out to a dinner reservation. After we had said our goodbyes to our friends outside the brewery, I shared the strange interaction I had closing out my tab with my wife, and as a precaution, she recommended that we head back to the brewery to try to close out the tab again, just in case something was overlooked. I thought this was a good idea, but this time, asked my wife to try to close out my tab, as I didn't want to experience the wrath of the impatient staff member again. To absolutely nobody's surprise, the tab was not closed out! This staff member is by far, the rudest individual that I've encountered in the service industry and should reconsider their employment if they hate customer interactions this much. Truly appalled by my experience and won't be coming back anytime soon. If management wants to investigate the issue further, the tab was opened at the outside bar at 8/14/26 4:23 PM, check #35, and was transacted on by three separate staff members: 1) first person who opened the tab was friendly 2) second person who added on the second round of drinks was the same rude individual who didn't correctly close out my tab later in the evening, and 3) the third staff member was the one who finally properly closed out the tab with my wife at 7:11 PM.

Tl;dr - A true beer garden ala Texas/Midwest, with the food, beer, and relaxed summer vibes you all…read moredream of. There's something for the whole family aside from some truly tasty beers. I've been coming here for awhile, ever since one fine afternoon I was in town on business and was feeling a need for craft beer. I was once the world's predominant authority on craft beer in my own mind, but years of chugging ales have decimated my tolerance for it. Anywho, the first thing you'll notice about this spot is it's out there, pretty far off from downtown Alameda tucked away in an old military pier alongside some other more enterprising establishments. Lots of parking so there's that. Inside, they are definitely doing that thang, massive brewery stacks dominate the background but the space is massive so it supports an almost endless amount of tables, benches, and spots to hide out. Arcade machines, outdoor activities (even a kids sandbox) really add the "Adventureland" elements that make it more than just a standard brew joint. If you've had their beer, it's definitely on the expensive side, but they keep a healthy variety that I would say is all reliably refined and delicious. Its no 2000 era Bells or modern day Founders, but I particularly like their love hazy and the Mexican style lagers. My friends who like sours say they are also quite good. Although this place is really not directly affiliated with the business it's definitely a reason I go so I can't leave it out -- they have food trucks outside that handle most of the food there and the one they have there always has one of the best burgers I've ever had in the bay, hands down. It's a blackened blueberry and blue cheese burger and even though I don't like blue cheese, this unholy alliance is faaaaaaan-friggin-tastic. Must try. Service is casual, they do flights which is a great way to try things. Not sure about any happy hours, would love to see them get a mug/growler thing going here for discounts, they might have something already I'm just not aware of but nothing is obvious when I've gone. It's a great spot to kick it with some friends on a nice day or late afternoon, having a few beers and relaxing. California doesn't really do the beer garden thing like we do in the Midwest, you'll find spots like this all over Michigan so it's nice to see something of the same type here finally. I believe dogs are allowed too ala Texas vibes, but not 100% on that so I'd check ahead of time. Personally, I cannot stand seeing dogs at restaurants and bars so even if they do allow it, those aren't your kids, can we start reporting places that allow dogs without signage? If I brought a raccoon in on a leash would you be fine with that? It's a sanitation issue. Anyways, I digress, if you like beer, you like fun, and you like damn fine burgers, this is the best spot on the other side of the pond. 'nuff said.
