I have to say that the staff here, were very friendly, and made you feel welcome. I am not sure of the nurses name, but she was an angel!! Super sweet, very caring lady! I know why she chose nursing for her profession!!! FNP was also friendly, I felt that because of the time maybe, was why I felt she was rushing me through.?. I felt she should have been more thorough, and feel her service was not of much help. My symptoms do not come even remotely close to be able to be claimed by the diagnosis she wanted to give me. I told her that wasn't what was wrong. I got emotional for a brief moment, for a good reason. You don't diagnose someone as having a major depression disorder, because they get a little choked up explaining something. You sure don't just up and push a brain altering medication on a patient such as a antidepressant, when you have spoken to and have known this patient for a mere 5 minutes tops!! Jumping the gun a little there. I just would have expected, given the seriousness of my symptoms, and that what I have been experiencing, possibly could have been something a lot more serious than I had told her it was, but she didn't even ask me if I had gone to an ER when I had the massive panic attack, and described it as I thought I were having a massive heart attack. She didn't even ask me how I knew it was a panic attack, and not a heart attack, even though I had told her that was the very first panic attack of that stature I'd experienced! I don't have health insurance right now is the only reason I hadn't been to a family doctor, because believe it or not, they will not see you if you don't have it! They say they do, but always conveniently have a waiting period of 3 months for open appt, or they currently won't be taking new patients at that particular time! My life, I didn't feel, was in jeopardy that minute, and so didn't want to tie up an ER bed that might have been needed by someone that was in a grave condition!! My BP was sky high, and she didn't even ask me any details or act the slightest concerned. Very nice lady, but I'm not sure I would feel at ease, if I were dying and she was my only caregiver. The antihistamine hasn't helped at all for the level of anxiety I am having, still am having mini attacks throughout each day, still having BP spikes, and still feel awful, but for future advice, don't see all your patients as though they are exaggerating their symptoms, or just being dramatic, or possibly it's in the patients head.?. That was the impression I got from the FNP,who saw me that day. Thank goodness it obviously was a panic attack, and not a heart attack, or I'd be dead by now, unless I still have a heart attack, but I'm one of these that is lucky and actually has warning signs for a longer period, than sudden death, but given the fact that I didn't ignore the major symptoms, and did go get looked at, I am trusting she knows more than she seems to. I would however, come to you in a normal office setting, for less serious symptoms like a cold or flu. When one sees the term "Urgent", one tends to assume they would treat more than just a cold or flu. I've never seen a cold that required emergency type care. I know I'm coming across as being very cold, and I'm not meaning it that way. I promise! I am however praying you can at least see a little bit of where I'm coming from, and hopefully help you be a more thorough FNP! Very few people that claim something is wrong, or that they are feeling something a certain way, just because you have in your head that it doesn't sound logical, doesn't mean it isn't everything they said it was and then some! Never let your personal views interfere with you being able to make a professional and in your case, possibly a life saving decision, or action!! Thx for trying though. read more
