The Banyan Tree Sanctuary is truly a magical place that rejuvenates your soul. It has given me a greater sense of well being. The sanctuary gives you a feeling of peace and you will not want to return to your daily fast paced work life. This beautiful sanctuary is not beach front however, sits a little higher up where you can intake all of the gorgeous views near and far. Located at the end of a small private road that leads through a huge private gate. There are small private rooms available for short term rentals. A great spot if you are coming here to visit. With reasonable rates, the Banyan offers a shared kitchen for everyone to and enjoy. There is also a huge garden and plenty of fruit from the trees on the property. There is a pool and hot tub for guests to slip away into after a long day of island activities. This place is a truly an oasis. Live music and jam sessions happen with Benjamin and Rae. Feeling good vibes and energy through music. Banyan also offers massage with Rae. He is absolutely incredible and took me to another place I've never been before. A place of deep relaxation. And try to take advantage of his services when I visit. The Banyan Tree left me with rejuvenation and a better sense of well being.

Blown away - Thank you Charlie Parker…read more We had a wonderful week at the Four Seasons Hualalai and wanted to thank you and your team for such a memorable stay. The resort is absolutely beautiful, and the customer service is truly exceptional. Everything feels clean, fresh and very well maintained. We really enjoyed our dinners at Ulu and Beach Tree, both of which were excellent. Our room had a bueatiful view, and the gym was fantastic, with just about everything you could want. Most importantly, your team went above and beyond to make us feel special and accomadated throughout our stay. It's the little touches and attention to detail that really make a difference. Thank you again for a wonderful experiance. We look forward to returning!

The hotel has plenty of pools and restaurants but the chair management at the pool could be improved. It seemed like guests would reserve their chairs early and the chairs were not turned over once they left. We would walk by and see tons of towels showing chairs were claimed but no one in sight. The only pool that you are able to easily get a chair at is the spa fitness center pool. If you want a safe / easy snorkel option, they have a snorkel pond; King's Pond is 1.8-million-gallon carved lava rock aquarium with tropical fish and spotted eagle rays.

Unfortunately, the customer service was a major disappointment. I agree with Kwan's Yelp review on that matter. During our stay, one of my shirts accidentally went over the balcony and landed on a roof below. I called the front desk and asked if someone could retrieve it. No one ever followed up with me. I called again the next day and was told that it would be retrieved, yet once again, nobody followed through or delivered it to my room. I ultimately left without the shirt. That should have been a very simple request to resolve. The first night, the smoke alarm in our room began flashing an extremely bright white strobe light periodically throughout the night. It was bright enough to illuminate the room and was very disruptive to our sleep. I contacted the front desk and was told that this was "normal" and that they could not do anything about it. The following night, the exact same thing happened. This time I recorded it and showed the video to a manager. He appeared genuinely baffled by how intense the flashing was. Clearly, what we were experiencing was not something that should simply have been dismissed as normal. I also had an interaction with one of the front desk employees whose response and demeanor were noticeably grumpy. It did not appear to be personally directed toward me, but it certainly did not reflect the level of hospitality I would expect from a Marriott resort. There were several positives. The Honu breakfast was good, the bar was enjoyable, and the pool and spa were great. The resort grounds were probably one of the strongest aspects of the property. The bed, however, was quite hard and uncomfortable for my preference. I have stayed at many Marriott hotels and resorts over the years. This property has a lot going for it physically, but the service side needs significant improvement. A beautiful property can only carry the experience so far. Better communication, follow-through, and hospitality from the front desk staff would have made a substantial difference in our stay.

This place was absolutely dreamy and the staff was so kind. We stayed in the cottage and really loved the privacy it offered. We had our own spacious lanai to watch the sunrise each morning. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. They made special accommodations for us vegetarians which I greatly appreciated. Coffee was so good and the view from the dining table was breathtaking. As far as location, you're definitely a little off the beaten path which is what we wanted. There are some small shops and restaurants to walk to, but for the most part you'll probably be hopping in your car to head to the beach and busier parts of the island. Hawaii is meant to be explored, no matter what inn or hotel you decide to make your home base. But Holualoa Inn is truly magical and I'll never forget my time there.

Fraud alert! Be careful with this resort's sales representatives…read more After a long flight, we arrived at the hotel expecting a quick check-in and a warm welcome. Instead, we were pressured into attending a sales tour for their new property development. The salesperson repeatedly tried to convince us to sign up, despite our hesitation. We were told the $40 credit card charge was only a temporary authorization to hold our spot, with no actual charge, and that we could cancel at any time without a fee. The salesperson also took a copy of our credit card. The next day, we called to cancel because we were tired. I specifically asked whether the $40 would be refunded. After repeatedly trying to convince us to keep the tour, the salesperson finally confirmed that it was canceled and the money would be refunded. However, a $40 charge actually appeared on my credit card statement, and we still have not received a refund. We came here to enjoy our hotel stay--not to be pressured into buying a condo. This was an extremely aggressive and misleading sales experience. Be very careful before giving them your credit card or agreeing to their property tour.
