So, most of you by now I am sure have heard about Campbells Cash & Carry. It has been around for a…read morevery long time offering wholesale and bulk stock for businesses. I have been shopping there for years for my work in hospitality and event management. But, I am sure that most of you have not been able to shop here because you don't have a ABN to get a membership. Not any longer! I found out recently that if you have an RAA membership or work for a non-profit organisation such as a school, sporting or a social club you can apply. All you need to is download the application and show your cards or documentation. Check out their website for more details. Now, what will you find in this gigantic warehouse? Well, it is like a giant supermarket really. You will find everything you need like toiletries, pasta, canned tuna, spices, soft drinks, etc. You can buy items singly or in bulk. What is the price difference you ask? Well, to save money you want to buy in bulk, that is where to true savings are. But, if you want single items you still have a bit in comparison to a normal supermarket. So, let's just say you have a party coming up and you need paper plates, cups, forks, party pies, lollies, chips, etc. You can buy all those items and more really well priced here. This is my one stop party shop. Just yesterday I needed a bunch of popcorn kernels and paper bags for an event. I really need to buy bulk items to feed a lot of people. I purchased 500 paper bags for $8 and 12 bags of 375g popcorn kernels for $10. That is pretty good! It might surprise you to know that you can purchase good quality fresh meat and vegetables here as well. Great place to shop for Christmas dinner to save some money. So, if you meet the criteria to get a membership it is worth checking out if you have a big party coming up! Or if you like buying in bulk to save money.

What I really needed was a lot of really, really cheap tape. Cheap stores were selling rolls at $2.50 p/unit. Campbell's Cash and Carry hit back at $1 p/unit. Right on. If you consume any item in bulk, this is the place to come. I'm talking Red Bull, Extra Chewing Gum, Neapolitan Icecream, toilet paper, condoms, Skittles, whatever. The lolly aisle alone is bigger than my local Foodland. Don't lose your shit when you get in there, stay calm. Get your bearings. Get to know the aisles - cruise for bargains before committing. Don't go crazy, you don't need a four litre bottle of chocolate syrup. But the more you buy, the cheaper the unit price. To get cheaper bargains, you need an ABN. No sweat, anyone can get one - sort yourself out online.

First was told that there was a mix up and the company missed my order on Tuesday but had been picked up that morning. Further into conversation was told that it was still waiting to be picked up. I then said I was going to be in Adelaide the next day and I could pick it up instead because it was an urgent order which is why I paid for express. I was told that they needed to speak with their manager and then call me back. There was no call back. Come to today, the following Monday and my parcel has finally arrived, a week after ordering and paying for express. The contents however are incorrect. I have called them again. I need to wait and call them back tomorrow though because apparently there are a lot of online orders and they can't talk to me about mine. They also need to speak with whoever packed my order. Very very uncooperative. I asked to speak with the manager. Was told that the manager probably wouldn't want to talk with me. I was put on hold. Dead silence for 15 minutes before I hung up. So I've paid for an order with express shipping. Incorrect order delivered, was not treated as express and unwilling to help rectify the problem. Definitely do not recommend this company.

Bulk is bigger and better!…read more Having frequented Gaganis for years it has become my monthly ritual shop to stock up on raw foods. Fortunately they extended the trading hours on Saturdays to 2.30pm awhile ago so that there is no longer a mad dash down Port Rd on Saturday mornings. Excellent prices and and a great range of Mediterranean/European food keep me coming back. I'm obviously a fan but not alone - nearly the entire Greek/Italian population of Adelaide pass through this enormous warehouse regularly. If you are in the market for continental meats, cheese, coffee, bread, olive oil, nuts, seeds, herbs, condiments, baking items etc etc - this is the place to head. The more obscure can also be found ... canned chipotles, dried cherries, a whole sauerkrauted cabbage and maraschino cherries with stems were all noted on a recent visit. (They have also extended their range of Indian foods.) New to Gaganis is the Greek equivalent of Bunning's sausage sizzle. Daily you can smell the enticing smell of grilled beef chevapchichi, warmed pita, onions and a continental salad wafting through the car park. Certainly more tempting and less fattening (maybe?) and definitely more entertaining (the Greek chef always has an anecdote) than the more conventional Aussie alternative! Beware: Christmas and Easter are potentially fraught as the car park overflows and tempers fray!!

Some reviewers such as Daniel G are confused by Costco and what it entails therefore must Yelp negativity and opinion more than fact. I grew up shopping at Costco and understand what it is ALL about. In order to be able to shop at Costco you pay an annual membership of $60/$5 a month - very affordable. I love that because you don't have randoms filling the store looking around or hanging out like you do at most shops. Here you have serious shoppers. In saying that, there are times that are worth avoiding if possible, mainly the weekend. Just look at the parking lot and you get a clear idea how busy the warehouse will be. Costco offers shoppers bulk buy deals. If you simply can not store 48 rolls of toilet paper for ($20-27 dependent on the brand) or 8 boxes of tissues for $18 then this is not your kind of shopping. Yes, the trolleys are huge and need to be based on larger product quantities. Don't look like a learner driver and bring in a Coles shopping trolley! Get used to the warehouse environment and bigger aisles. The shopping at Costco is MORE than just food. You have electronics, appliances, house ware, clothing, shoes, prescription glasses, care tyres, jewelry and even furniture. The deals available at Costco show savvy customers how much margin the general stores have and that sales at a grocery store are just a ploy not a fact. In my first shop I saved on the following verses shopping at Woolworths: At COSTCO vs. WOOLWORTH'S Costco - 6 pack of Tuna 425g cans = $22 Woolys- 1 can of tuna 425 = $5 (on sale) (Save $8) Costco - Coconut oil 900g = $14 Woolys - Coconut oil 300g = $6 (Save $4) Costco - Cacao powder 1kg = $17 Woolys - Cacao powder 250g = $6 (Save $7) I also save on eggs, milk, meat, cheeses, bacon, juice, frozen foods, veggies, shampoo & conditioner. You WILL save. And if you don't need that much of something split the bill with a family member or friend! Lastly, there are no plastic bags to put your bulk items in. There may be some leftover cardboard boxes to use at checkout and be more earth conscious than the grocery stores. Enjoy the experience but please don't be confused. COSTCO is not a grocery store. It is a warehouse with good deals and NO condescending commercials like the two main grocers pay millions for annually - so why do you think WE SAVE SO MUCH!! Thank you Costco for no commercials!!!

I was originally attracted to the big spiders for hanging on the wall, because they are kind of unusual and not so real they'd freak you out; upon closer inspection the shop is crammed full of all sorts of really wonderful odds and sods. Bangles, beads, book ends, wall hangings, candle sticks, sarongs, bags, a few baskets; all pretty much imported stuff from all over the place. Not too expensive and a great variety of things. African carvings and probably Indonesian, Indian, some Australian as well, I've been in several time and still see stuff I didn't notice the first and last time, if you get what I mean. It is a family business (as in wife and husband), so you can rely on them if you are looking for something unusual to help you out - they know their stock pretty well and since so much of it is wood they do a fair amount of polishing and keeping things fresh. I really like wood so I really enjoy having a look through this shop. Some items are quite small and then they vary in size through to really large features objects like elephants and giraffes. Its fun browsing and hard to visit without seeing something you want to take home, so be warned!

There are many products that are in date and you can really get a great bargain, and then there are the Eastern European Imported products that are as entertaining as finding a tin in your pantry without a label and daring yourself into eating whatever the contents may be! I particularly like the Prospect Venue as I have found the staff there particularly friendly and always keen for a brief chin wag while scanning your goods....not too much of a chat, just enough to pass the check out time. Anyhow, my point is that the 'use by' or 'best before' is just a date for legal purposes (for many but not all products)...there is a bit of flexibility here. Those of you unfamiliar with the Rite Price chain may wonder why I am bringing this up, so here's the deal: Rite Price is a discount supermarket. Not all, but most of there wares are on the shelves because they are near this use-by or past their best before and are therefore severely discounted. So here's a depressing fact - 20% of all our groceries go to waste...and I recall that when we had the supermarket, a lot of stuff ended up in the bin. It's such a shame to straight out waste food - but you can prevent food being wasted by supermarkets AND save yourself a BUNCH of dolla dolla by having a look at Rite Price! Now they don't have EVERYTHING but if you head here first, you can definitely plan around what you can find and as the previous reviewer wrote, yes there are always plenty of cheap treats for the sweet tooth. Recent bargains - HUGE wheels of cheese - brie, blue and all the fancy ones, still in date for a few days for only $4.50. Perfect for the weekend picnic, yes? Added bonus - they are now open til 7pm on Thursdays for all those who work all day long! - enjoy the cheap life!

Their office and showroom on Port Rd West Croydon has a large range of items on display to make your choice easier by being able to see it and hold it. If you've never heard of them until now, have a look first on their comprehensive website, this will give you a pretty good indication of what they've got in stock before making the trip. For anyone who needs an empty jar, bottle, pump, cannister or drum of any shape or size these guys are your shop. Not very well known as they don't advertise and usually sell direct to a variety of industries, but they also have their doors open for the home produce person who can buy their pickling and storage bottles too. People who make their own beer, bottle olives, pickle produce from home grown produce or store bought for that matter, make their own skin care, etc Plasdene has all of these specific items in stock. Glass, plastic, PVC, lids, pumps, containers, crates, buckets, bins, etc and alot more. I always come here to buy my airless serum pump bottles, cosmetic jars, lip balm wind up tubes, etc it's a fantastic resource and within the western suburbs. Previously there was never a minimum order amount required to purchase but I believe now there is a $50 minimum otherwise there's a surcharge added, which is pointless to pay, so may aswell add some extra items to cover. Yes I can understand it can be annoying for them to go out the back of their warehouse and have to hand pick and count out the items, as opposed to just getting the forklift and take down a palate or a whole carton. I truly hope that doesn't increase or policies change as there is basically nowhere else in Adelaide who provides this kind of service to the general public. The prices are excellent and depending on what you need there may be a carton quantity purchase required, but for what you spend individually elsewhere - if you find it - it's much cheaper just to go with it.

Not only her immediate family, but her extended family. And we all know just how extended an Italian family can get. She bottles the crap outta the sauce and sends it off to all our relatives. She doesn't make them pay. She doesn't do it at Christmas time. Cooking is her talent, and, if we really want to get into the amateur psychology of it, she NEEDS to do it to feel like she's worth something. And no one's complaining. So, lots of sauce comes outta the Pilla household. And my nonna (whom I sometimes drive around) assures me that this is the only place to get bottles. Whether a statement of ignorance, passion or fact, it's a testament to this store regardless. If for the former, she's never been too little satisfied to try shopping elsewhere.
