There is always someone to greet you when you come into the cafe, and the cashiers and baristas are equally as kind. This cafe is great because during the week a lot of people come in to work, it's not too loud, and if you want, you can reserve a private room to take a meeting or focus on a project. I've tried the matcha which I didn't love because it wasn't the highest quality. (I am a bit of a matcha snob so I don't usually like matcha unless I make it at home or it's a cafe that buys their supply directly from Japan). I've also tried the iced Honey Lavender Latte which I loved, and I realized today that you can purchase their syrup and the ingredients look clean which is a plus. Today I opted for one of their Fall drinks; Maple Flash Brew, which was fantastic! Overall, I prefer their coffee drinks over their matcha, but I recommend this place because it's casual, in a central area (downtown Fort Lauderdale), and the drinks are pretty good.

After its recent "core banking update" "to improve banking experience for members" processing of ACH payments moved up from 8:45am to 6am. Their "courtesy pay" overdraft insufficient funds system is proprietary so they can change the rules as they please. Over the course of my years with the bank they have changed from assessing courtesy pay based on current balance to available balance, including pending charges. So this means you could have a pending charge that would disappear later while having a balance currently in your account and if another charge is forced through depending on how the charge is assessed which you have no control over they will indebt you a fee. Many times now since they changed this I have a chronology of charges where a courtesy pay is assessed while my account never actually went into the negative. Withdrawal dates of recurring payments change without notice. Very frequent surprise early morning or day-early charges. Sometimes money is taken out with a future date on the charge entry. Their policy is to only reverse one courtesy pay fee a year however they break so many rules that the Florida Office of Financial Regulation sometimes has to force them to reverse the fees. I have documented their practices several times through complaints to the office, but FLOFR exercises extremely limited assistance with its various offenses because Florida cares more that banks make money off of you not having it. I have also had a phone banking assistance associate turn off my courtesy pay without consent or notification. This bank needs to be shut down. Evil work for Broward County Schools employees and their families.

She had to make some phone calls and unfortunately, at the time, there was a 30-45 min wait. I didn't have that much time to stay and wait so Gina offered to call them the following day when she has more time and she could call me back with some answers for me. I was grateful she offered to do that. Saves me so much time. The next day, Gina called me and left a message. I was back in the area so I just stopped by and she explained to me what needed to be done to resolve our situation. I was so appreciative of her willingness to go above and beyond to help me. On top of that, she was super nice too. I thanked her for her time and effort. Funny enough, I had to come back around in the drive through to get a lollipop for my daughter as promised. Gina was the bank teller at the time and we were laughing. I asked her for a lollipop, specifically orange if they had that flavor, otherwise anything will do. She said she will do her best. So she sends back a small bouquet of lollipop flavor options, like 5 total since they didn't have orange flavor. Whoa. Made my kid's day! Thanks so much for the amazing customer service Gina! We know where to go if we need to come back to Truist.
