The Bank is a Marriott Design Hotel, a small boutique hotel with 27 rooms and another small building connected. We checked in the room 127 on the second floor. Our immaculate, bright & large room had a very comfortable plush king size bed and a second room with a twin. We were pleased to find water, teas, a Nespresso, truffles, a refrigerator & all the comforts of home. The room was very modern with power window treatments, buttons to push for room service or do not disturb, a safe, and a large light up closet. WiFi was fast.
Our large marble bathroom was filled with verbena toiletries, robes, slippers, a light up magnified mirror, bidet, plush Turkish towels & all of the accessories we might need for a week. The temperature and water pressure are perfect
We explored the gym in the basement I was surprised to see a full spa with a Turkish bath, massage and treatment rooms. The gym had cardio machines and free weights. We went up to the rooftop for dinner sitting on the terrace over the Bosphorous River. We went back each night and even had a light meal on the rooftop under the heat lamps. The good, service & atmosphere at Serica was exceptional as the food!
The hotel is in a perfect location. It took about :10 to walk around the corner and over the bridge to the heart of downtown Istanbul. The tram & metro stop right on the corner. There are markets, restaurants, pharmacy, shops, grocery store, a bank ... right outside our doorstep.
The hotel has a historic marker & an interesting history. The Bank Hotel building was built by Antoine Tedeschi in 1867. Bank Street is where goldsmith & bankers were always located. Yılmaz Ulusoy Holding's purchased the bank in 2010. It opened as a hotel retaining many historic features. read more
